Press Conference: Matt Ballin...

If Ballin is not fit wouldn't be surprised to see Jack Littlejohn get a shot the way he has been talked up in every pre-season training wrap up…

I can see this happening too. He seems to be doing all he can to make the #9 jersey his (remember I think TT said he put his hand up for this late last season). Good luck to him!

I just hope that the info i got 2 years ago from people at the manly club is wrong(even before he signed for us but after he extended for them). If fit he is an asset but if his legs are shot which i was told then we have wasted 2 years and 2 years of money.
Lets hope the info was wrong

I hope Liddle starts in round 1\. I think its time to move on from old, broken down hookers.

Your still talking about rugby league aren't you Eddie

You just have to pay a bit extra , that's all

Great Initiative from the club.

Matt Ballin is quality on and off the field.
I was fortunate enough to meet him and Dene Halatau last year as they did a walk around and mingled with the fans prior to a game when they were both injured.

In the limited time he had on the field lasylt year the team played so much better and with better direction. I hope he guides liddle well.

Not having a dig and I too hope he goes well neat year **but he interchanged in two games** he tallied 30 odd tackles and less than 20 meters gained. I don't think you can gauge much from that but I hope he does add direction to the team next season.

Not sure why this worth pointing out. He's not going to be an 80 minute player and he doesn't need to be. All the stuff you are judging him on is based off coming off a knee reco. He didn't get a chance to build his game up before he hot injured again. Fingers crossed he has more luck next yr.

Your right it wasn't worth pointing out  , what's all the stuff I have judged him on? I've not judged him at all, I've done the opposite, I'm saying you can't judge his overall impact to the team based on the limited minutes his played. By all accounts he has been great for the club off the field and I'm sure he will be great for Liddell and mcilwrick.

Tiger come lately it definitely was worth pointing out. It was a dud signing and as you rightly pointed out he played in total about 30 minutes all season. The reason GNR4LIFE was quick to jump on your comment is because Ballin was a JT signing and you have to be careful not to upset the JT fan boys on here lol.

Except we don't need a 24 game a year starter, we need an experienced head to ease Liddle in for the first half dozen games. If Ballin's good for 30 minutes a game til the end of may, that might be enough.

Yep. Similar to when Galea was starting before Farah at the start of 2005\. If Liddle is worth his salt, he should be the dominant player soon enough.

Thanks mate, I don't mind if GNR4LIFE or anyone makes a comment on my posts either way. As long as they are not personal or difamitory then they are welcome. That don't have to agree with my thoughts on everything as I probably won't agree with their thoughts on issues. It's all good.

Press Conference: Matt Ballin

Mon 19th December, 06:00PM

Wests Tigers hooker Matt Ballin spoke to the media at Liverpool Hospital today as the players delivered presents to children spending the holidays in hospital.

Ballin faced some tough questions from a special guest who made the trip to Liverpool from the North Pole to help spread some Christmas cheer.

Ballin joined team mates Josh Aloiai, James Tedesco and Jordan Grant to deliver toys to children who will be spending Christmas at Liverpool Hospital. The toys were donated by Wests Tigers Members and supporters as a part of a recent Toy Drive.

Well done Matt.

At Prince of Wales Children's Hospital, we had the NSW Waratahs, Sydney Kings and the NSW FIreman (beefcake poster to raise funds for various children's charities) come through this week. Great for the kids that they do this as some are in Hospital for six months! One of the kids was looking forward to Lego as a present but it didn't happen. Our own son who is sick himself went out with his brother to Randwick shops to buy this little boy Lego from the toy store so he wouldn't be disappointed.

That's a great story Paws. Congrats on having 2 beautiful kids. Ain't it funny how selfless & generous children can be - we can all learn something off them!

Our kids are happy and healthy and safe this Christmas with more than one box of Lego under the Christmas tree. Hats off to your son, and his amazingly selfless act. What a great kid. Wishing him health in the future and a great Christmas!
