Gold Coast captain Scott Prince out 4-6 weeks with broken thumb

March 29, 2010 .Gold Coast Titans captain Scott Prince will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a broken thumb in a big blow to his NRL club.

The Titans halfback will undergo minor surgery in the coming days when a screw is to be inserted into his right hand and is expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks.

Prince received the bad news early on Monday morning after suffering the injury late in Saturday night's 24-8 victory over Canberra.

Prince has been in brilliant form for the unbeaten Gold Coast and was able to shrug off a salary cap controversy to star against the Raiders.

They will miss Prince bigtime, and so will I considering he's my halfback in fantasy league.

it will be a while before he has confidence in the injury, being fully healed.
gonna cause him problems for a while.
speaking from experience, ( not being a footy player) but from having a plate and four screws inserted at base of left thumb area, it could be a while before he is confident with it.
then you get your first hit on it, it swells, bruises, then you have to wait again.

They'll be able to cover, they'll still win some matches, just not as many.

I'm not sure who is available but they could easily go:

1\. Zillman

6\. Bird/Rogers
7\. Campbell

Exactly, even without Prince the Titans still have one of the best halves combos in the comp.

Still better than ours.

Surely you jest???

Moltz/Bunji v Bird and Campbell.

I know who I would be on.

Prince broken thumb =
one less team that will be accumulating consistent points in the early rounds!

All we need is thurston to bust a wrist or twist an ankle this week and we will be set!

My opinion only ofcorse but to me:

Benji > Bird (just)
Campbell > Moltzen (comfortably)

Therefore its 1-1 but we have a narrow win and they have a comfortable win… so their halves pairing is better via for & against :stuck_out_tongue:

Many would disagree though, I realise that.
