Proud of that

Was waiting for this thread. What’s the point of being proud when you know they could easily revert back to the same old crap last week. Chances are they will. When they can put a couple months worth of that back to back, then I’ll be proud.

Yeah and I'm waiting for the 100+ threads calling out their performance & attitude and demanding sackings & demotions when they do regress.
I booed them last week, it's only right to applaude them this week.

I am so happy that we played so much better .... and lost again.

Before everyone jumps on me I want to see that effort most weeks and win, and yes, against the top 4 sides.

But I just know that next week will be back to normal transmission. Sorry been burnt for far too long.

In Madge's Press conf he looked happy a little that he knew the team grew tonight.
It felt like all this mental training about working together has paid off and the light bulb switched on..

Next week is a big test especially that Manly have Turbo back and coming off 2 wins.
Some might not agree but I thought Simpkin at 9 with Mbye at 14 is working very well. As soon as Mbye comes on he just helps create space and we look so much better.. Its a shame AJ got injured and he had to go there to cover.

On a side note I cannot wait for Blore to be back as I love his passion on the sidelines and the video clip of him cheering on Brooks at the end was great..

So who replaces Kopaoa in the centres? I don't think Talau is a winger personally, so Talau in the centres and a call-up winger?

BJ probably back. Or Mbye.

The best thing was the dodgy calls that went against us in previous weeks have seen them capitulate ..tonight they didn't.. can be proud of that ..hope it continues..

P.S..the dope in the bunker should read the rule book..when you drag to ball forward on the ground constitutes a knock-on

80min+ effort. Never gave up on the game.
We play like that every week and we win more than we lose.

I know what your saying and I kinda agree but Every season West’s have a one or two “brave” loses.

If things are to change they have to be brave wins. Sick of loosing games like this and to loose them in ridiculous circumstances.

What was ridiculous circumstances?
They busted their guts tonight. Got some pathetic calls go against them. Hardly a disgraceful loss.

Absolutely. In the past, when calls have gone against the boys, they usually drop their heads & loose motivation. But they just played on tonight.

Play your game & don't let the ref decide it for you. The ref may "influence" it, but they can never decide it. The players attitude has more affect on the outcome than the ref.

Much better effort tonight. I’m usually really critical when the coach and captain say that things can be turned around in a week. I think we actually saw that tonight. I’m humbled. I just hope we can string some games together back to back to show that this is who we say we want to be.

I think Simpkin was great for a debut but definitely not in our best 3 IMO

3. AD
2. Laurie
1. Musgrove/Noffa/LL

Hard to read when you're blind. How he missed Latrell standing on the sideline for that kick return is astounding.

Tonight set the standard for how we need to play every week.

The best part of today was that the club's Flegg, Knock-on and First grade teams are each showing real signs of building into formidable force in the not too distant future.

Hopefully Madge drills that into their heads this week. That attitude will win you more than you will lose.

And every player that fails to meet that baseline for attitude gets dropped for someone who will dig in.

Proud of the improved performance - yes, if pride is the word.
I'm more hopeful that the team is learning what their capable of, with new players, new combinations etc still in early days.

It's pretty sad that some can't bring themselves to congratulate the blokes on the way they played after that display. Some of you fellas seriously need to get a life. It must really hurt to see the team improve. All your negativity & death riding is gonna eat you up in the end.

If they did that the doctors would have to reduce their meds.
We played well last night and could have won. Hoping we build on that and get some consistency - it was obvious we definitely have the potential to be in the finals.
As to the Madge bashers - crickets.
