Doesn't Keith Barnes have a stand named after him?

Tommy's home ground was really only Lidcombe and that now would be a waste. Maybe put his statue with another Tigers immortal (Roach, Sirro etc as long as its not Elias) at the entrance to Concord oval after it has been rebuilt.

You’re right about the Keith Barnes stand ....I was obviously having a moment of dementia. Oddly enough Concord oval sits on the site of West’s first home ground.

You’re right about the Keith Barnes stand ....I was obviously having a moment of dementia. Oddly enough Concord oval sits on the site of West’s first home ground.

Not quite mate - Wests played at St Lukes just across the road to the north. West Rugby (Now West Harbour Pirates) were the original team there since 1900. The Pirates still own the lease on Concord for another 11 years.

@Ponyo Laurie was the man, I was around 4-5 years old, went to a magpies vs tigers game ( Dad was a die hard Magpies fan) Laurie picked me up and put me on the field and shadow boxed me because my Father put a Magpies jersey on me, from that day on I was a tiger supporter, and ironically enough my Whole family are now tiger supporters.

G'day @Ponyo: Being a long time Wests Magpies fan, I knew nothing more of Laurie Nichols than what I had seen on TV, and I gotta admit he looked like a bit of an idiot to me back then.

That is until he got on my bus on Vict. Rd. Rozelle one day en route to the city. I said g'day to him, and as the traffic was bumper to bumper we were able to have a quick chat.

What an impression he left on me.......WoW!!!

Such a nice and decent bloke.......completely opposite to the nice and decent game day Laurie Nicholls.
