OFFICIAL Q&A Club discussion with Shaun Mielekamp

Thanks Shaun.

- Coaching Question???

Is there plans to provide Benji Marshall additonal coaching support and / or change of asisstant coaches? It appears our coaching department is lacking heavily in experience and successful experience, along with people that may be able to challenge Benji.
Yes - There is a review and plans to improve the resources and structure that we have allocated to our coaching ranks. Obviously I can't talk about the plans until we implement them.

Yeh great call. I haven't been apart of the draw process with NSWRL but I am looking forward to better understanding how we can maximise our matches to be played together - womens included in this as well.
That would be brilliant hold it at Campbelltwn. put some food market day on as well
and then saturate the marketing area and can be a regular feature yearly and raise money for Breast Cancer or Family Shelters.

Hi Shaun,

Just curious if we're active in the overseas player market?

Are we looking at players in the Super League, Rugby Union, Japanese rugby etc?

It seems like it's been forever since we've signed a good Pommy or other international player who wasn't already playing in the NRL.

Considering we've had stars like Patty Richards and Gareth Ellis, it seems crazy that we wouldn't be..

Are there any challenges with these kinds of signings that fans may not be aware of, such as transfer fees, salary cap implications, relocation concerns etc?

Hi Shaun,
There has been a lot of discussion on this forum & elsewhere regarding the lack of access to players after games for the young fans.
Clubs like Warriors will go out & sign autographs & take selfies with the kids for ages but it doesn’t seem to happen with Wests Tigers.
It would be nice to see the players express their thanks for the long suffering fans. Those little kids are the future of the club and whilst I know it is tough to smile after a loss they seem to have no problem joking around with the opposition so why not make some kids day & spend some time signing some autographs.

Your still going your a brave man to be hanging out in here

I hope it lasts even once a month would be great but it takes up your time maybe the forum could do a vote or something and give you once a month the top 6 questions and after that you could randomly choose what you want to answer

Just checked the web site and there is a nominated home jersey and a nominated away jersey, but that appears to be ignored
In practice it’s like the orange is worn at Leichhardt and the white (magpies) kit is worn everywhere else unless we have a special jersey e.g heritage or indigenous

The jersey - i did a breakdown of which jersey we wear at each game.

Orange jersey - 4 home games ( all the games at Leichhardt and 1 game at Suncorp.
- 6 away games

White jersey - 7 home games ( all the Campbelltown games and all Commbank games)
- 4 away games

the only pattern appears to be that the orange jersey is always worn at Leichhardt and the white always at Cambelltown. No idea why the white is always worn at Commbank nor why we wear the orange jersey at more away games than the white

my cousin is a newcastle fan and the players regularly after games sign fan gear and give away boots and headgear etc after each home game

But three of those away games were the Heritage jersey (x2) and the Indigenous jersey. While both have orange on them they are not our primary jersey and shouldn't be lumped together.

We have worn the Orange jersey (labelled as the 'home' or 'main' jersey) in 7 games.

We have worn the White jersey (labelled as the 'away' or 'alternate' jersey) in 11 games.

I honestly love all the jerseys (the stripes on the heritage jersey are 🔥), but it makes marketing sense to wear the Orange as much as possible, as it is unique to us and has more brand value regardless of personal opinion, particularly as it is labelled as our main and the white as our alternate.

In retrospect, we should have worn the Orange at Commbank which would have made the distribution to 7 homes games each.
