NOT satisfied with poaching Greg Inglis and Israel Folau from across the Tweed, Queensland have now attempted another blue heist on Titans flyer Kevin Gordon.
On the eve of his finals duel against Manu Vatuvei, Gordon's father Bob told Sports Confidential that Maroons legend Arthur Beetson had made clandestine moves to turn his Coffs Harbour-raised boy into a Maroon.
"I told them it wouldn't be happening as long as Kevin's a. .hole points toward the ground," Bob said.
"He was graded in Sawtell and the last I knew that's a bloody long way from Queensland.
"I know Arthur pretty well and he thought Kevin might've been graded on the Gold Coast, but it's just not true.
"They keep saying he's a local Gold Coast product, but he's not. He's from Coffs Harbour and he played here until he was 18." According to his father, Gordon also cheered for the Blues as a child.
"But he was so quiet, I couldn't even tell you who he supported in the NRL," Bob added.
