Raiders Eyeing Tiger Tim

Not sure why everyone who thinks Sheens is stubborn and arrogant. He really isnt.

Just because a bloke thinks differently to you about where a bloke should play football does not make him arrogant and stubborn.

So if it is not stubborn or arrogant to persist with Morris in the halves for 2 1/2 seasons what is it,stupid?
What about Fitzy at 6 for so long,Benji at 7,Robbie at 7,Lawrence at 6,Ayshford at 6 and Fulton at 6 and 9 the list is endless,he is a 600 game coach,he must know this doesn't work,so stubborn and arrogant rate highly in describing his actions, unless you revert to my earlier description option, stupid.
The definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result,is he insane then?,you can only comment on what we have seen over the years, and those 2 words seem very apt.

Sheens is a good coach and a club like Canberra with David Furner will benefit greatly… He was simply at the Tigers too long.

It will be good to see what the old fella has left in him!

The anti-sheens stuff on here is bordering on ridiculous. Does anyone here actually know the guy?? I dare you to walk away from two years of your annual salary after being told you were no longer needed, especially at age 62\. They made the decision to re sign him, they should pay him out. Simple. End of story

Accusing him of being egocentric, stubborn or whatever because he wants to feed himself for the next few years shows the mentality of some people on this site…

The club didn't ask anything of him that Tim hadn't already done to loyal players who won him a premiership. And fair enough, Tim made tough decisions he thought was in the best interest of the club. But he can't turn around and cry foul when the tables are turned and he cops the same treatment. Thats just hypocritical.

Sheens would have had the Warriors top job if he accepted it, and by all reports would have gotten a payout/top up from us at the same time.

So stop with the high and mighty for crying out loud.

Therein lies my argument. Every player moved on has been rightfully paid what was entitled ie a percentage of the remainder of the contract. This is no different to a coach in the same situation. Do you think Brian smith was not paid out? Of course he was. This is not someone crying foul, the money is rightfully his. And there is no proof that he was even offered the warriors gig in the first place. The club should just get on with it, pay him out and move forward. Just like this thread…..

Your argument is deeply flawed.

Did any of the players pout and refuse to take opportunities with other clubs like Sheens has? Every single player who was moved on mid contract had the choice to stay and collect a paycheck, or suck it up and move on elsewhere.

No tell us which one Sheens has done? Has he moved on, collecting a top up from his old club like the players have…or has he dug in and refused to budge simply preferring to collect all his dough?

Now if you believe I am saying that Sheens shouldn't receive any sort of payout, then maybe you should re-read what I said.

Aaaah geez I'd love to know the ins and outs of every recent past player weve had that weve let go….to be soooo connected, soooo knowledgeable...pfft

Melb Tiger is 100% correct...regardless what you think of him Sheens deserves to get what was agreed to....gotta love ppl who think they know whats best for other people

Yes Mr Cowell.

Nothing wrong with expecting Sheens to follow his players lead and walk away after getting a tap on the shoulder. Whatever shortfall he experiences can be topped up by our club. It worked for Gibbs (you know, the guy Sheens tapped on the shoulder and told to walk away?).

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

You dont make any sense…youre rambling

please provide evidence that Gibbs was denied anything other than the chance at 10 years/one club

Gibbs uses the words "gutted, shafted, and devastated" to describe how it felt when he was told he was no longer wanted by the Tigers after nine years at the club.
>
"I found out they didn't want me when I picked up the paper," Gibbs said.
>
"That is when I found out I was getting shafted.
>
"The paper report said the club was punting me, Liam Fulton and Chris Heighington, but I didn't know what was going on."
>
Gibbs, a Wests junior, said facing his teammates after reading the newspaper report was one of the toughest moments of his life.
>
"I can remember walking into the weights room and all the boys started laughing and saying, 'You are gone'," Gibbs said.
>
"It wasn't a joke though because it was true. It was pretty embarrassing and devastating walking into the gym that day.
>
"The thing that hurt the most was that just two weeks before (chief executive) Steve (Humphreys) said he wouldn't swap me for anyone, and there he was telling me I had to go.
>
"I had just re-signed for three years and then it was, 'See you later'."

Are direct quotes from Gibbs ok for you insane?

He had a contract, he could have dug his heels in and refused to walk aways. Basically he could have "pulled a Sheens" on Sheens.

Where does it say he wasnt paid, or would not be paid?
Apparently he found better coin.

Whats your bloody point…do you have one?

I wrote that not more than a few hours ago. I never said Tim should walk away empty handed. Its all right here, on this very page? If you don't understand, perhaps keep your attitude to yourself for a change?

Sad but true. But on the other hand we certainly have a right to be angry at sheens for his boneheaded footballing decisions in his later times with us.But in the realms of life Tim Sheens is a good guy.
