Firstly I would like to say, i am very disappointed in tedesco going. Secondly well done Mayer for not falling into the trap like previous management and CEO'S at the Tigers and paying massive overs for lets face it, a 21 year old kid who has played 25 odd games out of 70.
Yeah he had talent and potential, but he has got to show this year in year out like a Farah, Smith, Slater etc. Personally, looking beyond the disappointment of the whole situation I am glad he is going, obviously he is after the money and has no pride and passion for the jersey he plays for.
What was most disappointing tho were the lies that he fed the supporters stating he wanted to stay and money would not be a factor, what a load of BS. I think Tedesco is in for a hard learning curve, he can basically kiss goodbye future rep jerseys playing for a crap coach, and behind very average forwards and hopeless half's. To top this off, if his form is mediocre the supporters will start to call for his head, especially on the cash he is to get. (Look at the Blair and T-Rex situation)
Looking to the positives of the entire outcome, and yes there is positives and lots of them. We can now re sign the likes of Thompson, Gavet, Simona, Ava and really secure the majority of the squad for years to come.
We do not have a player on a huge chunk of the cap, that hinders future retention and recruitment in a huge way, and every time he runs we cross our fingers and hope he does not re injure himself long term. Hopefully we can really develop the likes of Rowe, Abou Sleiman and Moses in the coming 12 months.
I think Rowe can improve for the rest of the year, in the off season put some much needed size on and become a very good fullback. I think if the club is not thinking this way and want to try and recruit a fullback maybe we should have a crack at Hoffman. Especially if Bennett leaves the Knights and go's to the broncos, one would think his love child Darius Boyd would follow. This might allow Hoffman to be released.
I know it is disappointing but heads up everyone, the club has a bright future with all the youngsters we have already re signed and the ones still coming through. And my final bit, i would personally drop Tedesco. Make him 18th man for every game. I do not see the point in developing Tedesco further, as this will only benefit the Raiders. Plus it will enable us to show faith and allow Rowe to grow in confidence!
