So its not alright for Tedesco to look after himself and his future , but it is alright for us to use him while we need him

I have no interest in seeing this guy put on a Tigers jersey ever again. I'll add your figures are laughable - he was always after every last cent and trying to make out that he was hard done by is a joke.

I think the club management has done extremely well to handle this transaction. Imagine if Mayer fell for the high payout demands, it would have set a precedent and re-signing others like Gavet, Simona, Thompson & Ava would have been difficult. Now that the club has made clear that they are looking for player that show commitment (remember the club did offer Teddy a 4 year deal that almost matched the sum the raiders offered for 3 years, and I think the club was thinking that teddy owed us a year for sticking by him…well we know what happened), there maybe a ray of hope for future negotiations.

I also think Mayer's negotiation skills has forced Canberra to pay overs for teddy (And believe me they have, as it's the brooks-teddy combo that's going to be missing big time). Stuart is trying to build a spin for 2015, and buying player (aka like assembling the origin squad) will mean that it's going to take to build the team....the combo that Easts built last year was a fluke (once in a decade event) and sticky won't be able to replicate that in Canberra.

To sum up, this deal that teddy did was all about the money (and the quote from Ayoub yesterday to say it's not just confirms it). Also I like the comment from Mayer about our retention policy (all the player he quoted agreed to a 4 year extension, ironically the same as what was offered teddy).

I believe the offer by Canberra was closer to 300K more than what we offered, the latest SMH article mentions this. Also the offer by the raiders is apparently 3.2 mil now (lol). You can read it here:

if you can believe the article Sticky and the Raiders are paying $1.1 per year for Tede$co…had we matched that he'd be the highest paid player in our club!.

I would have been ok if he was straight up and honest but he has been making the fans look like fools these past few weeks.

Hope he plays park footy for the rest of the year.

No idea what your on about. I just want to get some value out of him before he leaves. We need to pick our best side while in contention. If we are not, focus on the future, which he does not want to be a part of. Simple

James signed a contract saying he would play for Wests Tigers until the end of 2014\. He has never gone back on his word, and so should be allowed to finish the job he signed up for. I'm sure he wants to do his team mates proud and leave on a good note.

I think it's very important that young James play every match for the remainder of 2014, especially around September. We'll bring extra strapping tape for that ankle. What you heard a pop? Yeah we're going to need another needle here. Concussion rule? Nah he's fine sir. You just keep returning those kicks son. Have another shot.

He can have his next surgery on the Raiders time.
 
he has basically been on the dole at WT since his debut anyway, getting money for nothing while the others are busting their arse. play him for the rest of the season, run him into the ground and at least get some skerrick of value out of him. then again i dont think his teammates would be too keen on putting their trust in him anymore to have a dig for WT. I couldn't see the ANZACS in Gallipoli being too keen on fighting alongside a turncoat who basically tells them 'stuff this, i'm going to fight for the Turks now fellas'. if Tedesco is dumb enough to think that Ricky will still be coaching the Raiders after next season he is kidding himself, Ricky will taks the cowards way out and leave Canberra after a few more hidings…just like he did at Cronulla and Parra. When the going gets tough, Ricky gets the hell outta Dodge, every single time. Have fun down there in paradise Jimmy Tede$$$co. you and Sticky will be a good fit for each other. There goes our 2014 season as well unfortunately.

I think he never had the intention of staying, the reason he took so long to make a decision is cause he was waiting on Milford to make his and hit Canberra for a big contract!!
Good management on Ayoub behalf but I still think was the wrong decision!!
