No way. Whatever happens from here, they have done an awesome job this year. No one expects them to win it, so whatever happens in September is icing
I agree mate but just to be clear I was having a bit of a joke about everyone calling them the Wahs.
Some time ago when there was a discussion about who you would support if the Wests Tigers for some reason no longer existed and also who is your second team and if you had one.
A lot of people said they couldn't support another team and it wasn't right to have a second team, some even said they would no longer take an interest in Rugby League if the Wests Tigers for some reason no longer existed.
I offered the opinion that I could not follow another Sydney based team and that was also true of a team that was based in another state, however a team from across the ditch was another matter and I that I actually quite liked the Warriors and had done so for quite a while.
Of course when we play them I want them to lose and I was pretty pissed off with them at the back end of the 2011 season and also this last round where I thought we did something good to repay the Warriors for the sacrifices they made during COVID, only to get some really bad calls from the officials, but aside from that I have always liked the New Zealand teams when they turn up to play.
Big forwards and big fast powerful backs, then throw in a tricky skillful half and when they get it together, what's there not to like unless they're doing a job on your team at the time.
I would even support the idea of a second New Zealand team in the competition, imagine what that would do for the game over there if there could be an NRL game in New Zealand every week.
There of course would be the same arguments about dilution of talent etc. but that is going to be argued regardless of where an 18th team is going to be based at.
Anyway that is just an explanation of where I am at just in case anyone thought I was being critical or a bit harsh or ungrateful when it comes to the Warriors.
