Several things today:
1\. The 10 metres was pretty ordinary and the refs let a lot lying around in the play the ball
2\. The video ref to the TNT no try…that was poor to say the least
3\. Payne's pass over the sideline. That penalty we got saved him a lot of embarrassment.

I think the reffing in general today was just poor. The amount of head work and second efforts in tackles just gets more and more each week it seems

The obstruction thing is swings and roundabouts, the raiders had one disallowed against us a couple of weeks ago when Ellis was demeaned to be obstructed, that at very best was 50 50, this week we get the call go the other way.

How about Bryce Gibbs giving away a penalty in front of the posts for offside when the game awas in the balance.

Farah's pass to Moltzen on the 5th tackle when moltzen was near on touching Farah at the time and was well covered. Robbie wasnt right yesterday and will smash the Sharks this week.
In the final minutes when we had a scrum 10m out from the Roosters line. James Aubusson goes down with an injury. Tigers had an overlap of 3 on 2 with Tuiaki on that side, easily wouldve run over for a try. We pass it the other way. D'oh!
And in regards to the Ellis penalty with the play the ball. Warren Ryan summed it up perfectly on ABC. That rules is severly outdated. The decision to penalise a player for not playing the ball straight on was introduced when markers were allowed to make a play at the ball in the play the ball.If the person playing the ball was not square on it was deemed a disadvantage to the defending side who had a reduced ability to make a play at the ball. Since that rule has been taken out and markers cant make a play at the ball, the rule is now invalid and unnecessary and in essence is actually disadvantaging the hooker who has increased difficulty in picking up the ball coming in on an angle.
