How good was it that Ray Warren wasnt calling the game last night.

The guy is an old moaner. Not sure whay he missed the game but wouldnt be surprised if he called in sick rather than call another one of our games.

A change in long overdue.
 
The quicker Warren retires the better. He's a legend but he's had his time, more annoying than engaging these days when calling. He's also making more mistakes of late.

Channel 9 will not push him out though, they'll give him as long as he wants coz of who he is. Maybe the next tv deal will change things.
 
Let's hope so Glebe. I'm over his cliche ridden, favourites based calling. Yeah it was better last night and not just because we won
 
Rabs is a senile old muppet. I use to think Gus was to blame for setting Rabs off, but i've come to realize that's just Rabs. Grumpy old fart.
 
Not just Warren…the sooner the better that 90% of the dinosaur, old-school members of the league community are shown the door. They have too big a say. IMO they're a big reason the game hasn't progressed further - they are reluctant to let it be anything that doesn't include their history of the game; their bush club, their now defunct inner-city Sydney club, their Anglo names, their working-class, rough as guts memories. Rugby league is now too big and too slick to be held back by this but seems scared to leave it behind.

Instead of accepting change these dinosaurs prefer to muddy the waters and complain about things like refereeing and player loyalty in a sad attempt to seem relevant. However as often they have no real solution attached they only make the situations worse.

And as for the suits cluelessly running the game at NRL headquarters...let's not get started. All Greenberg needs to do is look at the NBA and he'll see an organisation that listens to the fanbase and has logical, consistent player laws. The NRL should be much, much, much bigger than it is.
 
Yes, it was so much better last night. It made Gus and Sterlo better as well not having Rabs there.

Oh Gawd No… I don't want to wait that long.
I want him gone...NOW.
 
I also think Warren has had his time and I didn't miss the constant Gus/Warren drivel. They are as bad as each other. I also wouldn't mind Fittler and Johns to go either. They think they're comedians. They are both morons. Fittler more so

The way Johns giggles like a pre-teen girl is embarrassing. Taking nothing away from their football brains, but neither of them are cut to be on television, especially Johns. Talks out of his nose, and has the worst elocution i've ever seen. The only person i know who comes close to matching it is his brother. But Matt has a personality, so that somewhat makes up for it. Joey doesn't.
 
I like Warren Smith and Brandy on fox with Gaz giving his input. Shame the others can't follow their lead. I was stoked I didn't have to hear Rabs saying our players marked the ball. That drives me round the twist. Amongst other things….
 
Warren should be calling bingo in a retirement village …just signed a new 3 year deal go figure ,he struggles to call the right players as is but that is Ch9 ....broadcast in SD when the future is HD pay billions to show case your product in an obsolete format.
 
Agree Ray Warren is stale as hell right now so over him it's been 23 years I have had to hear his voice for Nine need a chance him and gus arguing all the time gets boring
 
Im in shock that a lot of people DONT like Ray Warren.

IMO he is the voice of NRL, will be a sad loss when he no longer calls the games.

On the other hand i MUTE the TV when Ray Hadley is calling the game

kinda the same- i can't imagine a GF or SOO without him.. dont care too much who calls regular season games
