Is that from Big League mate?

Weird that Lane is named when he missed last start and Hawkins not named after having a great game against the Bears off the bench including the mother of all line breaks

Got it from the NSW Rugby League Site , just now Smeg

Either way I will be making the trek to the tip known as Kanwal to see what comes of it.

I am not expecting a win because no team ever wins the penalty count up there against the Storm. Goodness knows BRET were bent over last year by the officials

I reckon we are a good chance, just have this feeling, and I might trek up after I finish work at Noon.

It is easy to find for those who haven't been there before.

Take the Sparks Rd exit from the freeway. Go across the intersection of the Pacific Hwy (10-12 kms or so after the freeway exit) and it will come up on your left.

If you stuff up than follow the signs to Lake Haven Shopping Centre and follow the smell of failure south to Kanwal along Lake Haven Drive

LOOK for sparks rd exit on the f3,,its approx 2kms after the caltex servo, when you take the sparks rd exit ,you will travel about 500m then turn right at the stop sign, which will be sparks rd,,follow sparks for about 6 ks till you come to a set of traffic lights, go straight through, and you will then go through 2 small round abouts.continue for about 3 ks till you get to the end ,where there will be one hell of a big round about, again go straight through, you will see a small shopping centre on you right at a set of lights , continue for about 1 km till you come to another round about ,,turn left ,and morrie breen is on your left…phew///

Good luck to BRET up there. I hope the boys come home with a win but the CC Storm will be a tough unit at home. Hopefully Mataka and Gower go well and push for FG before the season ends.

Crap. Losses for both sides today then. Be interesting to hear whether CC Storm were simply too good or Balmain simply shot themselves in the foot.

Balmain were pretty bad to be perfectly honest but the Storm were certainly aided by some one eyed reffereeing as well.

Firstly a big up yours to Tim Sheens. The team trained with Hanbury at 5/8 all week and come Friday Sheens decides to let Collis (already signed elsewhere) get some game time with the Pies. This left the team starting on the wrong foot to begin with.

The Storm also had some big guns come back to their side with Maloney & Webb (?) their halves pairing and Tandy also coming back to the side. (Tandy came off late in the game with what appeared to be damage to an already injured and padded right forearm.

Secondly in the first 10 minutes Meaney cops an illegal high shot and has to come off with a damaged eye. No penalty for the swinging arm high shot of course.

But the Tigers just were not on their game. Mataka and Gower both had innefective and lacklustre first stints and were hooked midway through the half.

We had big problems on the right side in defense as the combination of Lane, Ryan and Lewis was found wanting in reading the play and they just were not covering up the ball or the inside corridor.

We also dropped the ball just before the line on two occasions but the game was gone by than.

The reffing was terrible though. The Storm employed all of the tactics the Storm use to use in the NRL before they were clamped down on. Alot of balls were called forward that weren't and it is summed up by the Storm scoring a try by putting the ball down right on the sideline with the reff and touchy looking and it was still blown a try.

There is something to be said when a reff seeks out a player to caution him before the game and not the captain or coach and has tried to do so on several occasions. Than when the reff is yelling that players name to get off the players when the tackle is being completed than there is a problem.

A frustrating day all told

did collis play for BRET? how did this affect the team if he played for the magpies? Or was Hanbury called up as 18th man

Hanbury called up as 18th man mate.

Collis was supposed to play for the 'Pies

Thanks for the update Smeg. Sounds very disappointing.
Big game for BRET against Bulldogs next week. Leichhardt Saturday 3pm.
Bulldogs and Central Coast both won and have opened a gap with 3 to 6 on table - both BRET and Magpies are in that group.
