Realistic team list round 1 2018

@ said:
1\. Tuimoala Lolohea
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Moses Suli
4\. Taane Milne - give him a go and see how he goes, Esan can replace if need be
5\. Curtis Rona - we must sign this guy, he's important

6\. Josh Reynolds
7\. Luke Brooks

8\. Russell Packer
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Ben Matulino - if Woodsy stays, he can slot in a bench spot and provide impact
11\. Chris McQueen - if fit, we can always slot in Lawrence or sign someone decent from the fire sale
12\. Elijah Taylor
13\. Matt Eisenhuth

14\. Benji Marshall
15\. Sauaso Sue - needs to pick up his form, could be our next Marty if he stays consistent
16\. Tim Grant - unless we sign someone else, he seems our only option
17\. Lawrence/Aloiai/Marsters - not too sure about who to pick here

Oops, forgot about Twal. I'd put him at 17, and have Sue come on as a dynamic edge player. Only problem, Lawrence misses out (who I have a soft spot for).
Also, Aloiai and Marsters also miss out, although they are exciting prospects.

Practice makes perfect..

12\. McQueen
13\. Eisenhuth

14\. Matulino

Marsters is better than Miline I think but Miline comes from the bench for Dragons

He does come from the bench for the Dragons but he gets very few minutes (last week only 2 or 3), so it makes it very difficult to judge his worth. In games where he has started or got decent minutes, earlier in the year, he really looked the duck's guts but obviously failed to impress McGregor. For what it's worth, I'm a Marsters fan and would like to see him get first shot at centre next year. He may go well in the second row but I'd like to see him mature in the backs first.

Mataulino came to us because he wants a starting position.

Is duck's guts good or bad?

I think Marsters needs one more year experience to be a full time 2nd rower. However if ET doesnt resign id be happy for him to be there.

The star of the team is the team. That's Ivan's motto. Therefore your fullback prediction just doesn't fit. His motto is ' the star of the team is me. I am the team'. Wouldn't want him if he came for free!

FWIW I think our 2018 team is far better than our current team, and yes, that includes Tedesco and Woods going.

Ok before people jump down my throat I think Tedesco will be missed but I can see Lolohea improving greatly at fullback with a good off season. He's no Tedesco but he'll do alright.

Woods and his front row mate being replaced by Packer and Matulino is definitely an improvement.

I also think Reynolds will be an improvement on what we've had for many years.

On top of this, I believe Marsters, Suli, Eiso and Twal will benefit from a full off season under Cleary. Then there's our other signings (top 25 or backup) who are much better than our current crop.

Every year is very competitive to get in the top eight but I think we are definitely a better prospect next year. We will still need help with the injury gods, but I am very confident.

Haha sorry I meant to have rowdy down as 18th man,Mcqueen hopefully recovers well from surgery and rowdy as a backup or some games bench role..depending on the opposition.

Rowdy will be in the 17… when fit...Reward for years of service, but Inthink they may and try and move off ESL at the end of 2018

i hope so supercoach he isnt what we need.

Rowdy is a good line runner, arguably the best at the club.

But his handling and lateral movement have really abandoned him over the last 2 years.

I'm also not confident with Lolohea at fullback. I'm not opposed to the idea, just don't think he's done enough in his career that he's capable of a full time gig in the role. However we haven't many options to fall back on. Thompson can cover the role, but again, he's a fill in guy.
