Recent site issues

Hey everyone

As some people have noted the site has in recent times become somewhat laggy and unresponsive. I spent a bit of time trying to figure it out but was thrown by the fact that it got worse AFTER the tigers exited the finals - this shouldn't happen as traffic dropped off.

On tuesday our host decided to suspend the site for service violations without any prior warning. After a few phonecalls to the USA and some email exchanges I was able to get the site back up and running later that day, but the host essentially said that the site was putting too much of a load on the server.

Again this puzzled me as the it was something new (post Warriors game) so why wasn't this happening before when the site was heaving?

So it turns out that it was a problem at the hosts end. They had made a small but significant configuration error which resulted in a huge load being put on the server. Aside from a small explanation and a brief "sorry", that's all I've been communicated by them.

So sorry for anyone who tried to access the site and was told it was suspended. The laggy issues should be resolved now too.
In the mean time I'm going to look for another host.

Every time i post a message I get a fatal time message saying that because it wasn't posted in 30 seconds it hasn't worked and all this weird goobledegok afterwards but it is still posting

please take a screengrab of the error next time Happy… will help us figure out what is going on... try leave the sytem clock in there too if possible should we need to look through logs.

How much traffic does WTF go through per month?

Just curious, may have a solution if you are after a decent host…

when the error comes up, hit your "print screen" key… its a key that you prob never use - on some laptops its "SHIFT-INS" or "FN-INS"

then open up "Paint"

and go to edit and click "paste"

then you can save that image as a jpg on your computer, then post it here - effectively it shows kaiser exactly what you were doing when you had the issue.

Im getting the same thing. Mainly when trying to access the "Board index"
if I use the drop down box at the bottom of the page to navigate between forums everything seems fine.

Spoke to soon Now I get kicked off when I send PM 's same message but line 267 at the end of message instead of line 3
