Vote Yes. If you dont. Aboriginals will be left behind. This is on you. Their survival depends on a Yes vote. Otherwise they will be left behind. Your fault. Govt did their best.

I think this has been a problem in this area as governments just want to throw money just to say they are doing something and it just doesn’t workI have a friend who is privileged but if I'm being honest that term is really a nice euphemism. He has always been spoiled. He hardly works since he continually gets bailed out via his mum.
You need to break these cycles somehow. I don't believe just giving people money solves issues.
Well, at some stage you have to take a step back and say “we’re doing enough, it’s up to them”.I think this suggestion of course relies on generalisations, but I'm sure there are many examples of what you say. I feel that a Voice to parliament helps to make Indigenous people both more engaged and accountable. I don't really see it as potentially making these issues worse. As many have said, there are many agencies and huge money going into the issues, and outcomes for Indigenous people aren't improving fast enough, so we need to try something else. I just can't see how a representative Indigenous body makes this worse.
Is it possible you could fit any more slogans into that post?Yeah, well, good luck with that...
"Boo-hoo, poor me, what about me" lol
data with regards to life expectancy,
disease, poverty & incarceration rates
have been posted here countless times.
What you don't seem to grasp is that no
other ethnicity or race has had the horrific
history that they've endured in this country -
and that they are the original inhabitants.
Bridging the gap helps all Australians
and makes us more prosperous in the future
Will it require a department resembling the DOD in size to accomplish it?It will operate. In one direction. Aboriginals will be happy. Their golden ticket
Do we really need the Voice for issues like that? I mean it’s low hanging fruit.Which:
The Minerals Council of Australia has
The Australian Medical association *cough Doctors Union cough* has
Key members of defense.
Various other bodies.
The one that got me, was a man from Arnhem land talking about how "2000 gas stoves and 2000 gas fridges were delivered to the Aboriginal communities. People complained they were not used".
No gas in Arnhem land.
That's one of a stack of decisions that change Aboriginal people's lives, yea waste money too but the life impact is more important.
You have an Aboriginal representative there, they can make the point "hey no damn gas in Arnhem land."
In society - generally speaking.Do we really need the Voice for issues like that? I mean it’s low hanging fruit.
It goes along with the point I made earlier today though…money gets spent in the wrong way. I highly doubt that service was offered without any consultation. So where is the breakdown occurring?
Informal = noIf that was the sole honest reason, I would simply suggest that person look to the imbalance of the ledger in other areas and that they vote informally instead of no.
Fraudulent claims of Aboriginality will only increase as standards of living decrease Why? Because so much money and services are budgeted to them.We know why the figures have increased. Bulletproof, no DNA test required, no questions ever allowed to be asked, greatest loophole scam going around.
I personally know of 3 family groups - a total of 17 people that are now claiming they are aboriginal. None of them are. They do not get questioned at all. 1 family is white as driven snow with blue eyes and my mate has done his DNA test on Ancestry.com and it has come back 100% Northern European. Doesnt stop them claiming everything and anything from Centrelink and marking aboriginal on every piece of form to get preferential treatment. Honestly, as a native born in this country i'm thinking about ticking the box on every form going forward. It is not ever questioned cause that would be racist.
I love how you give people a whack and then end by trying to appear virtuous.I've got 4 quotes I haven't responded to, I can't
be bothered tbh. One thing is for certain though,
people really show their true colours when it comes
to contentious topics such as this/politics. Shows
what type of person they are and what they stand
for. To each their own at the end of the day I
suppose. We're all right & wrong at the same
time. And It's ok to have different view points
as long as they're expressed in good faith and
respectfully. I didn't think this thread would last
as long as it has so credit to everyone involved
Dont know. Heavy question. But Kaito cares. Kaito wants the best for everyone. We can only operate on what we know and don't know. Do you really believe Kaito does not want a better world. But great question. You are much more astute than myself Tucker. I respect you both. Im sorry.
