Still no sign of riots & activists taking it to
The Streets like Tucker & some on here were
sure would happen. Look forward too see
how the Libs will help to work make things
better for these communities & indigenous
people. Some of the gloating I've seen online
is pretty sick - like they actually 'won' smthg
or are actually richer or better off now haha.
Look forward to seeing some bipartisan
support moving forward on these issues
that the Voice has raised, long overdue

There is a difference between facts and feelings. I read an article I think on the ABC site and a dad and his daughter went and voted. The dad voted yes but the daughter voted no because she was sick of the media telling her who to vote for.

But the daughter wasn't sick of the Radical Academics who were spewing their hate and contempt for anyone that had an alternate view to them, not to mention the Labor Party, the Greens, the Corporates and Sporting Bodies pushing the YES agenda while not providing any solid information about how the Voice would actually work simply because they had no idea and thought it would be good enough to make it up as they went later on.

All this despite the fact that all the Agencies, Corporations and Land Councils that have wasted billions of dollars and have not been able to solve the issues that afflict segments of the Indigenous Community, none of which were to be disbanded or to be made any more accountable than they have been to date if the vote for the Voice had of been successful.

Quite telling that you got that off an ABC site having an underhanded crack at the media for supposedly pushing the NO campaign but not one complaint about all the bodies I outlined above that were pushing the YES campaign.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the ABC a media organisation and more importantly one that is funded by the tax payer and one that should be chartered with providing a balanced view on all matters, and probably the most disgusting thing is that they were pushing the YES agenda while being funded by tax payers, the majority of whom were not in favour of the Voice being implemented.

I believe David littleproud Maranoa voted 87 percent no and has a large Aboriginal community and the 3 NT votes went no when he talks about Aboriginal problems he says every community has different problems and that Canberra just tires to shovel one answer down there throats and they are to far away and don't listen

And also Noel Pearson the yes guy gets 550 million ayear of tax payers money and by all reports does very little with it and is not interested in a audit of the funds

This is very important and is something that the ABC should answer for. Their extreme bias is far more nauseating than anything Murdoch has done.

Just for those who want to ease the cognitive dissonance by telling themselves most aboriginal people didn't want this anyway.

I agree with no voters who are laughing at yes voters for complaining about Dutton and misinformation. The no vote just campaigned better and were much more convincing for people.

It was easy to anticipate the arguments and you had leeser and other supportive liberals crying out to Albanese for a more collaborative approach. And they were heartfelt requests, not political grandstanding, because these were people of conviction who could see how it would go and wanted dearly for it to succeed. But I think the disconnect between Labor and poorer areas meant they didn't see the problems and were confident in the early polling.

On what the Indigenous people wanted: I think polling shows Indigenous Australians were a strong yes. I do believe it was something they wanted. Is there anything to suggest this isn't the case? The below article discusses this as well as the interesting situation of former liberal heartland voting yes and Labor areas voting no. Like everything else at the moment, it all feels a bit scrambled to me:

I agree with Mundine that we should be focusing on practical outcomes and the terrible suicide rate. But consideration of the fact Indigenous people strongly supported something that was strongly rejected by the rest of Australia leads me to hope that we can find some sort of outcomes that goes some way to responding to that support and offering an approach that feels more inclusive of their voice (even if it isn't the voice).

My feeling is from the forum here and the stuff I did supporting the referendum in a no voting electorate is that the rest of Australia don't really have interest in focusing on Indigenous issues, and agree more with Price in wanting broader strategies that are inclusive of social problems across all of Australia. I hope we have space to do both things better.

It’s barely been 24hrs. I’m not holding my breath. I just came across this article about a triple j host.


Reading this really disheartens me. This victim mentality is festering throughout a generation of young Australians. I actually didn’t mind Albos speech because there was a lot of inclusive language. That is the way forward.

The song was played for the duration of rapper Nooky’s all Indigenous music show Blak Out between 5pm and 6pm."

I suppose that's better than setting fire to the

This was never about The Voice to a lot of Aboriginals.

But yes, this blokes language just doesn’t match up with reality. It is designed to drive a wedge between his listeners and the 60% majority.
