Refs managed the game well for penrith.

I found the refs shortened the 10mtr defensive line for penrith enabling them to control the ruck better. They also made sure we didnt get in the ball in our own half in the 2nd half and i felt penrith got their penalties in their own half whilst we got ours coming out of our own end. The refs have destroyed the game.

Penalty count 9-5 with 2 of our penalties coming from the obstructions in the lead up to the no trys.

They were in our own 10 too. Couldn't buy one all day.

The game went set to set until a strange penalty they got early in SH helped get them a try.
At 16 14 they gave them repet sets on our line with obscure calls.
Sort of like Manly game.
No dou9this is a very boring year the media is hopeless and they are massaging a Melbourne Parramatta GF with Penrith and Manly perhaps 3 and 4 as they try to fend off an AFL possible Swans GWS GF.
It certainly is back to the 80s.

All the line ball calls went with Penrith and that gave them the ability to choke the life out of our game. I am afraid Badger 300th game was as poor as his other 299\. He has been a very average ref for a very long time

Just the usual situation where the team expected to win gets the better of the calls. Always happens.
That said, some dumb 'flops' by our guys as well.

Home town Badger at his best today …. what about the knock on he called when the ball clearly came off Brook' legs ....... he hasn't changed.

It was a shocker of a decision as 1/ he didn't play at it and 2/ he clearly didn't knock it on, 2 points behind with 20 minutes to go it knocked the stuffing out of the Tigers and made it near impossible for them to make it out of their own half.
What about the conversion of the try scored in the corner late in the game, Cleary took the conversion a metre in from touch!, fair suck of the sav Badge give us an even share of the ball & penalties.

They should introduce mandatory retirement for refs after 300 games.

Badger wasd garbage, so was Cechin earlier & most have them have been all season. A fish rots from the head, Archer should be punted, the base contracts for referees reduced with increased match payments based on the level being refereed. They should not be afraid to sack referees after shockers and bring up someone from the lower grades.

Their is no 2nd tier cap for refs and yet the same clowns go around every week.

Made the comment on page 1 or it could have ended up page 2 of the live game thread Badger would stitch us up today and he was true to form. There was a big crowd out there and i think i was one of about 35 WT supporters who turned up. Never expect a thing from Badger except the "higher rated " teams to get the rub of the green.

Having said all that he didn't cost us the game, we just try hard but lack the serious talent to trouble a lot of teams. Even though we were close for the majority, at the ground it always really felt like Penrith were in control.

Other than this incident I dont recall anything else in the game, rarely noticed the refs, didnt think they were that bad

You are being far to kind he is much worse than that

Most of the penalties were well deserved and a result of our stupidity. Refs were even handed and our loss had much more to do with an inept display from our 7 & 9.

Whilst i dont think the refs cost us, they did ensure we had no opportunity to mount a fair fight.

I have to agree really don't think they were that bad. That was a bad call, everything else seemed fair to me. We even got lucky with a couple of calls.

For mine that was a try. He dived into Wallace after he realised he was beaten.

Happened the other way to. Nofo's second try was scored about 5m in from touch yet Lolo was made to kick from right on the sideline

Most of the penalties were ok except the Brooks one.

However it is all the penalties he doesn't give or he penalised us (deserved) but not the opposition.

As soon as I saw Badger as the Ref it was all over for me, so result not unexpected.

Perenara and Cechhen are not far behind him.

Penrith's line speed was better than ours all day, but the telly didn't show enough high shots to see if Panthers were consistently offside or not. Grant got pinged twice however for trying to get off his line, and one of the offsides we copped was legit, every player 1-2 metres in front.

The thing that cruelled was the penalties mid-field from refs, there must have been 5 or more of the 10 penalties given 3rd or 4th tackle midfield for borderline type stuff like holding in the ruck or that Noffa non-flop.

We held Panthers out fairly well despite those penalties, but then when you add our own mistakes, lack of penetration bringing the ball back, fear of shifting the ball wide to counter the Penrith rush (we shifted early in the game and it worked well) then it meant we spent too much time in our own end.
