So if she came out tomorrow and said all Asians should be deported and we should remove citizenship for Aboriginal people you still wouldn't support a name change?
No because she is entitled to an opinion…no matter how crazy it is. She has formed an opinion and its not popular but that does not mean that those who disagree with said opinion should be able to punish her in this way for it. If she came out and said 'I dont want the gays playing in my arena' then the conversation changes.
Her having an opinion and her having an Arena named after her are two separate things. Rolf Harris is entitled to his opinion, but has naturally lost his Knighthood because of his conduct. Likewise if say Grant Hackett (to pull a name from the hat) became a Neo Nazi and started shouting Nazi propaganda, we could see a stadium renamed easily. You can have your views, even socially uncomfortable views. However if they are repulsive I see no reason why society should promote your name.
In Margaret's case, that is probably a step too far now. The "Margaret Court Lesbian tennis Tournament" would be the most apt response in my book.
