Rep team build up...more tigers plz!

SOO build up is beginning already….so here is my 'Official more Tigers in the NSW team thread'.

State of Origin has been pretty disappointing for me over the past 5 years. Not only have QLD won all of the series...there has been little to no consideration or representation for the Tigers in either team. I haven't checked but i think Farah is the sole Tigers rep in that time period - and even then it was only for 2 games or something.

I grew up watching State Of Origin with players like Roach, Sironen, Pearce, Elias and Brasher playing for NSW teams and this added extra meaning for me. I was really looking forward to Chris Lawrence running around this year in Blue...but sigh, now thats out the window. Same probably goes for Galloway with his groin. Same goes for Farah with his well publicized groin problem. Funny thing is I still think he's better than damn Ennis - even with the injury lol.

Hope they consider Heighington, Gibbs, Payten etc this year as alternatives for the current NSW forwards. Dwyer could be a smoky given last weeks form. Maybe a couple of them will get City call ups and sneak into the NSW team. Come to think of it...even Fifita and Ayshford OR any of the guys above could get a run in the city team so i guess all is not lost just yet.

inb4 everyone tells me I'm dreaming

Bulldog Ritchie said on 2ky that Payten will play for Country and will be a shock call up for SOO.

With Lawrence out and Farah playing injured I doubt we will see any Tigers playing Origin.

Galloway might be a chance, depending how bad his groin injury is.

Galloway is probably the best prop going around for NSW, if he isn't first picked prop then we'll have problems. Gibbs should also be in contention, not many 80 minute props going around that can defend like him.

I think Chris Lawrence was our only real hope. Cant see Robbie Farah making it especially with his injury and the missed tackles on big men, Martin Kennedy and Roy Asotasi in the last week isnt a good look for an origin player. Keith Galloway has other players ahead of him.

Look I love Toddy, but if he is selected for origin on current form and age, NSW is really struggling. Toddy is struggling with the pace of a NRL game at the moment. But I think he will pick his form up in current form in coming weeks as he is improving each week.

I don't think that any of our players will make it. Galloway is probably the best chance.

When Farah plays like he did against Souths he is as good or better than Cameron Smith. I think Robbie is the best hooker in NSW however he can't miss tackles and come up with dumb plays and expect to make the team. At the moment he is too risky a proposition. I would play him because when he is in form he is a weapon and no other hooker in NSW is at that level.

I think it would be a nice move by Ricky Stuart, I know Payten is getting older but he is starting to get better as the season goes on and he has always played brilliantly for us in big games I highly doubt he would let NSW down. His defence is top-class and he would add an extra dimension to NSW foward pack. We need to try something a little different, we can't keep trying just to out-muscle qld's forward pack because we have failed 5 years straight.

I would be happy if he got picked as I am a fan of Todd. He should of been there a few years ago when he was at his peak. He wouldnt let NSW down in defense but he doesnt have the go-forward that NSW will need imo. But if his picked I will be very happy for him and will look forward to watching him in a blues jersey

I'd be happy if none of our guys got picked, QLD crushed NSW 3-0 again, and we sniped off some victories over the SOO period.

Granted, I like to see credit where credit is due, and our boys got their fair share in the Australian Team.

To see Farah, Lawrence and Tuqiri Combine to score a try against Benji Marshalls NZ team was a joy to watch.

I don't want any of our players picked i think NSW will lose 3-0.
We have no halves standing up, one injured fullback and one that is out of form, one prop and a lock standing up both from the Sharks, suss outside backs Idris maybe but couldn't be picked with confidence Jennings is lucky to be playing 1st grade imo he's been that poor. I just can't see us putting a side together that will trouble QLD in any game, and i don't want to loose Tigers players and watch them get flogged in SOO while we get flogged at the same time we have lost enough players through injury we can't afford any more.

Unfortunately I don't think any Tigers players will be picked for origin. Rowdy was our only chance. The Blues selectors will continue to pick has-beens and other Ennis-type players because they are "built for origin" and we will get belted again.

The ultimate insult was that last year we were 1 point from the grand final after finishing in the top four, yet the bulldogs and sharks who were pathetic all year got half a dozen players in.

A complete and utter joke.

I think our last serious chance (Gallaway) of playing origin is out .Rhino and Gibbs probably very slim chances and all will depend on what Robbie's does with groin . Still won't be surprised if he has surgery when Fulton is back .

Marshall (kiwi) and Lawrence (injury) are out, who are two of our best players.

Farah is the most serious option but I dont know what his story is with injury. He is lightyears the best nsw hooker but he has been for 6 years. In saying that I dont think his last 12 months has been his best so if he couldnt get picked playing like he did in the past, i dont know if he will be picked this year,

Galloway is also a chance and I think his destiny will totally depend on how he plays in city country.

Ayshford, Heighno, Moltzen, Dwyer and Gibbs will all push city/country but I dont think any of them are up to origin standard. Gibbs might be the next closest…id have to see the props available.

Unlike everyone else I will take a different stand and say I dont think Heighno is up to origin level, or at least there is various better options.

Don't think any one will play unfortunately.
Chris Lawrence would be considered but with his injury now, he's probably out of contention.
Oh-well.

telegraph during the week rated Payten as a better chance than Galloway to get a prop spot.

Farah will probably get a bench spot with Young starting.

I have zero faith in Ricky Stuart and the NSW selectors.

ZERO.

Well actually Bug you have total faith . Total faith that him and selectors struggle to pick their noses let alone a competitive SOO side capable of getting close to The Maroons
