Reputation over performance for the Churchill

Very poor decision.
Thurston had an off night despite the field goal.
Thought Granville and Coote were terrific for the Cowboys, Morgan came up with the clutch play. Milford, Oates, Reed were great for the Broncos

Definitely. Has always been the way. If you were looking to get on the Cowboys at 1 90, you'd have been better off backing JT for CCM at 2 50 as no other Cowboy was ever going to get it.

Those were my thoughts exactly GNR when I backed Cowboys at $1.95 I then backed JT for cc at $2.75 - put $200 on each. You are right that no one was ever going to win it over JT. Just like no body was going to win it over Sam Burgess last year. It seems to be scripted that way sometimes

I do think he deserved it tonight though

Awesome game

JT deserves every accolade he gets…
But anyone who says he was the best on field tonight is on drugs!! Even at the death he was lost and very lucky to get the ball out for Morgan to do something with.
Milford had his name engraved on the CC medal until the 80th minute - it should have stayed that way...

You'd never expect him not to accept it, but how good would it be if he handed it back and said he didn't deserve it. Would be a slap into the face to those who put the reputation before the performance.

Not even close to best player, apart from having the most ineffective game I've seen him have for quite a while, he did something that I have never seen from him.
In the last few minutes, he actually panicked!!!!
Just before Blair smashed him. He had plenty of time to do something with the ball, but just didn't do anything, then at the end he had no idea of what to do. That try was in spite of , and not because of Thurston.
Maybe the pressure got to him, but he was nowhere near the best player.

Btw. What happened to the time limit for taking a kick at Goal. JT had enough time to go into the sheds and have a shower, before he took his kick. I couldn't believe the Broncos weren't in the refs face about making him take the kick quicker
Certainly one rule for one, and another for the rest.
Anyway it was good to see the Broncos lose , and a fitting end for that grub Hodges.

granville's defense was amazing but his passing was sooo horrible. gave some of the crappiest passes in the last 10

Glanville should have got it. They were lost without him.

they would've been even more lost without JT.

i only saw the last 40 but there is no way JT didn't deserve it. he was imo the best in the last 40\. kicking game, defense, covering, CLUTCH fg.

He shook his head and looked on in disbelief when they announced it

Time was out - he can take all the time in the world…. He's not wasting time when the game is officially over

In the first 40 Granville laid on 2 tries.
Thurston let one in.

That is why everyone is saying poor decision.

Don't get me wrong Thurston was the 2nd best player out there and if he doesn't avoid two tackles and then finally find the right option with Morgan the Cows lose

But Taumalolo just kept finding big yards and quick play the balls all night

And Granville was excellent as well , but some passes at crucial times missed the mark

For the Broncos , Milford ,Blair ,Thaiday and Oates were their best

The game wasn't over until the ref blows full time, how could he take a goal kick if the game was officially over.
It's the ref who blows full time
I'm glad they won. But you can't take five minutes to calm yourself down to take a kick.
Then again the NRL makes it up as it goes along most of the time.
