Resolution of off-field issues set to spark late transfer frenzy

This is farcical - we will get a cap penalty on one hand but then get cap relief if Musgrove is stood down. Monty Python couldn’t dream up this stuff.

Farcical is the word. If you have a player injured for the season, get someone to charge him with assault so we can get cap relief.

So Pascoe could assault Turdy Greenturd now but Farah would wait until he is out injured or his playing contract ends before finishing the job?

Is this the second "blackest day in Australian sport"?
It all feels like the early days of World Series Cricket where it often felt they were making it up as they went along
As a Tiges fan I can't help but feel harshly treated

Even Napa got off with just 10% of his salary being deducted for his half baked attempt at making a porn movie …
Lol

Gotta love the NRL !

Musgroves contract won’t be registered
Until his court case. Toodles said in the presser

This seems as unfair as anything. Make sure your contract is registered before you assault someone!

The NRL have confirmed that the “last on first off” rule applies only if a club doesn’t fix their own roster. If The NRL have to step in, they apply that rule.

My glee at imagining Cameron Smith missing games is immeasurable.

So if a club is 500,000 over the cap and their last in is someone on 90k, they can ditch them and play for points?

Depending on the club, that sounds more than reasonable under the discretion of dirtberg policy

I hope that St George don’t sign Kasiano and help the Storm become cap compliant.
If Cam does get the chop from the Storm he will have a walk up start with the referees, as he has officiated in over 350 games of NRL.

That is the smart move. The club over the cap is currently willing to subsidise 100k of the current contract. As it gets closer to D-day this goes up to 150k or the club decides that they are better off keeping him based on the net benefit they will get and look for someone else to deal
