we are out if the 8 if manly win if they lose we have a slim chance of staying in there
it doesnt matter who wins out of the cowboys and knights they will jump us and if penrith win we are out of the 8, we need panthers and manly to lose to stay in the 8(i think)
Wests would have been better off winning this week and dropping next week or the last round. It's just unfortunate majority of the cluttered sides vying for a Top 8 spot are playing one another. Sheens has made the comments over the last week weeks and even leading up to the Parramatta game that "a loss won't necessarily see us out of it and a win won't see us in it either". Well Coach Sheens, another loss and it will certanly see the club out of contention. Wests must win their last two to make a claim and book a Finals birth in 2009\. Nothing less than 30 points will suffice.
It is safe to say that we will probably drop from the 8 this week, but when you have a look at who plays who in the next few weeks, the Penrith Parra game next week will be very very important. If Souths win today you would think Penrith are gone anyway. With who Penrith and Parramatta play in the last round (Knights and Dragons both away games) its a very tough last game for both of them. One of these teams will probably be left on 27pts. If the Cowboys go down to Newcastle this round, it makes a most important game next week against Broncos. Can't see Newcastle not making it if they win this round. Important for Melbourne to beat Manly tomorrow. 28 points with our for and against still in good shape should be good enough for 8th. 30 and we are safe and 6th or 7th should be achievable. Unfortuanately we are relying on other teams over the next few weeks if we lose either of our last two games.
