The unthinkable happens this weekend and we lose to the Roosters are we out of the finals?…Appreciate if someone in thew know can clarify this for me...

If any of the top 2 win ie Dragons or Panfers win….our game means jack...

Cause one of 4 v 5 will loose....

If the Panfers loose and we win we get the week off into week 3

CLEAR....

Possible but highly highly highly unlikely. Manly are next to no chance of beating the Dragons, then the loser of the Titans & Warriors is also placed lower than us. Like I said its possible, but so are the chances of me hooking up with Scarlett Johanson tonight. Just very unlikely to happen.

can i suggest using this:

click "take me to the finals"

i went through all the possible combinations and like is said above, st george would have to lose to manly which seems highly unlikely, however penrith losing to canberra might happen. However we only need one of these guys to win to be secured a second chance if we lose against the roosters. But that won't happen anyway

In the end enjoy the finals and cheer on the tigers!!!

Thanks all….nice predictor tool by the NRL Kul...thanks...

Guys if the Raiders and Manly both lose and we also lose am I correct in thinking that we will be playing our next game in Auckland or the Gold Coast depending on which side wins the 4th v 5th match?

Adds even more importance to getting a win against the Roosters so we play in Sydney next week. I know i'm jumping the gun but was interested all the same

You are correct.

The likely options are say teams ranked 1, 2 and 3 win (us being 3 obviously)…then we would play the loser of GC/NZ at home. If 1 and 2 win, and we lose, Roosters would play the loser of NZ/GC at home while wed play winner of GC/NZ away. To throw another spanner if we were to lose and penrith were to lose (and st george to still beat manly) wed be playing in canberra next week

Win this game, we are guaranteed all games in Sydney from here on out. (either give us a week 3 home game, or a week 2 home game followed by a week 3 game agaisnt Penrith [ANZ Stadium, home region]. Lose it, we'll probably have to play interstate next week [NZ, Canberra or Gold Coast]).

So the roosters finish 6th, jag a home semi with us and if they win get another home semi in week 2 - so much for the advantage of finishing in the top 4.

The advantage of finishing in the Top 4 is a week one home final…
After week one, the advantage is based on winning. Win = home. Lose = away
Pretty simple to me.

Wests Tigers to beat the Chooks (as long as our defence is in order and improve our 5th tackle option)

St Chockers to smash Manly. (all old Western Suburbs fans will be happy after they used them as a breeding ground)

Warriors to beat Titans (a few big hits on Prince will make sure he stays quiet. Don't rate The Titans)

Canberra to sneak home against Penrith (Penrith struggle when other teams get physical on them and Canberra has big forwards. Shame we didn't sign Shillington years ago)

Manly and Titans to drop out this week.

People's thoughts?

Cant possibly happen..

If those results happen then it will be Manly and the Roosters who say goodbye….

Honestly cannot see the Dragons losing to Manly this week, I reckon they'll put 40 on them. Penrith V Raiders will be interesting, it's a night game which won't bother either side but I give Canberra a real chance given the form they are in at the moment, if they get their defence in order, they could spring an upset.

Gold Coast and Warriors will be tough, the Titans beat the Warriors a few weeks back over the ditch but the Warriors are certainly in decent form and their forward pack is getting the job done. Toss of a coin IMO for that match.

As far as the Tigers are concerned, I like our chances despite losing 3 matches to the Chooks this year. The team played terrible last weekend and was down on energy yet were still in the game right to the end. I see some similarities with the Tigers from 2005 losing their last 2 matches and conserving themselves, and then lifting to a whole new level for the finals. I think that's what Sheens is doing here, preparation this week will be flawless and I think he'll have a good gameplan to shut the Roosters down. I'm nervous, but quietly confident about this week.
