FOOTBALL legend and former league TV presenter Rex Mossop was ill in hospital last night.
>
The former rugby league and rugby union international forward, who is known to suffer from Alzheimer's disease, was admitted to Royal North Shore Hospital, according to rugby league officials.
>
The Manly Sea Eagles club, where Rex Mossop, 83, played his rugby league, was last night attempting to gather further information about Mossop's health problems.
>
"We have been monitoring Rex's health - we know he has not been well," senior Manly official Peter Peters said. "Rex is a legend at this club and has always been a great Manly man.
>
"We missed Rex at the game on Sunday against Newcastle. He is always at our Brookvale games. That was proof he wasn't well.
>
"We, as a club, and all our supporters, wish him well."
>
Mossop was rugby league's premier television commentator on Channels 7 and 10 from the 1970s through to 1990.
I know he was a Manly player and supporter but I hope he still gets well as he was the voice of the game through the 70s and 80s.
I found this funny video involving him after hearing about his condition as well:
