Maybe I'm the only one, but I thought Reynolds was really good in the last few rounds.

I'm genuinely baffled at how willing people are to give Reynolds a pass. Well, not him as such - he seems to be a good guy and I certainly don't blame him for taking the contract he was offered - but the ludicrous deal he was given. The guy has played 12 games in two years (most of them for significantly less than 80 minutes), very obviously isn't part of the coach's plans for first grade as anything more than a fill in or backup and is either the best paid player on the roster or close to it. Yet people continue to queue up to defend him.

We should be playing him, and playing him at 5/8th, that is why we bought him for, not his fault the coach won't put him in at 6

Benji from what I've been watching is streets ahead of Reynolds in value to the team. Do you weaken the team to play the guy ? I think that would be the wrong decision.

Grub was man of the match in 2 of the 3 games he actually got at 5/8th, he has never been given a proper chance at 6.
He was bought as a marquee 6, Benji was bought as back up, Benji has played zero games in reserve grade , while Grub has played quite a few.
And the reason no other team wants him is he is on too much coin here, not his fault, people saying he is no good are being unfairly harsh on his game, if he was allowed to play his natural position then things maybe different.

Does anybody know the latest with Jacob Liddles rehab .Will he be ready for the start of the season .Id appreaciate any news Thankyou

@851 I thought he was pretty poor last season. I think Benji is miles ahead of him on form at the moment and I'd be doing exactly what Madge is doing which is trying to get rid of him. Since you can't get rid of him just try to get some value out of him.

He had a couple of good moments at dummy half last year. He also had a couple of good moments in the halves. The problem is that he also had a lot of bad moments and he was injured a lot. Maybe he'll get a chance next season and play well enough not to be dropped.

@Earl I agree. There is no way he was getting the start over Benji last year. He simply wasn't good enough and/or wasn't fit enough last year. He hasn't sounded to eager on the move to 9 so I think the best option is to cut our losses and ship him off to the UK.

It’s the way he conducts himself that we all respect and enjoy. He hasn’t chucked the sooks or thrown the towel in. He has always been there positive, talking to the fans and when he goes on the field for reserves or 1sts he plays the same each time - 100%

An injury like he’s is too hard to predict. I remember hearing someone at the club when he got injured saying it could be the entire next season to being back by round 20 as the best case. I know a few Tigers who told me about 2 weeks ago the club is aiming for Liddle to come back around week 10 - 12, if everything runs perfect. Tigers have a massive issue at number 9 next season, Walters is a very good defender and will probably play there to start the season which leaves the halves of 6. Benji 7. Brooks 14. Reynolds

Dont forget Benji played extremely well there at the end of last year too, so i wouldnt be surprised to see him slipping in and out of the role through the game giving Walters a bit of time in the halves to develop his game with Brooks for after Benji.

It isn't too difficult to understand, You can't ship him off to anywhere - unless he wants to go.

He sounded like he wants to have a real crack at 9 from what I read.

If we consider Grubs form, fitness, enthusiasm, experience, leadership, versatility & passion displayed, that he brought to the team towards the back end of season 2019, I believe that he is an invaluable asset moving into 2020 and beyond, particularly with a strong off-season. We only have a few senior players remaining, their importance should not be underestimated! I also think that Rusty still has plenty to offer as a tough pack leader if he can stay at full fitness, he also has the ability to show aggressive defence which we need more of. Questions comments?

Yes I totally agree, Benji was great at dummyhalf with his ability in eyes-up footy, & Grub was adding a lot of zip & penetration when he came on with fresh legs

Can’t argue with his attack but he couldn’t defend in the middle for extended periods and then you have a constant reshuffle in defence to hide him out the back and not having a player to make those 30-40 tackles per game.

Yeah totally agree Beachie ...for a few weeks to change it up or injuries might be OK but Benji wouldn't cope with playing dummy half for 60 minutes for 24 rounds
