Reynolds at Lock

I'd play Gamble if anyone, or bring Cleary in as a ball playing lock (would be a waste of his pay packet though)- at least they are both rangy, lanky fellows that are awkward to tackle.

I just think that he'd bring more energy, ball playing and support play at lock for a full game which I swear he has done before instead of paying 800k for him to come off the bench to play 20 mins in a position like hooker which he isn't even that good in…..

I like ET but as an attacking threat I'd prefer Jacob Liddle taking a hit up

Your right he would bring more energy and if we had 4 hard running/defending forwards in the pack and 3 or 4 on the bench then maybe. Or maybe coming in off the bench as a lock.

I actually think that ET is going to become one of the weak links in the team (sometimes i think he already is). He is a great defender but that is about it, i noticed him trying to hit the line with ball in hand but he makes no impact. Has been great in our team last couple of years but, get the feeling he is going to be one of the ones to be let go soon or he will become a depth signing.

Don't think it is a very good idea at all.

Too light to start with.
If his shoulder is a bit dicky - not good to put him in the middle to take on the Front row.
Taylor is the best lock in the team - whether people like him or not.
Playing Reynolds for 20 min at DH is crazy also. Firstly he is not very good at it.
Secondly it will reduce Liddle's time on the field down by 25%. We will need him there for every minute we can get out of him.

Brooks is more of a natural halfback whilst if And when Cleary comes he will complement more as as 5/8
Look at the size of him already as a 20 year old
Reynolds could be tried as a centre before shifted to super league

We've seen no evidence that Reynolds can make even 20 tackles a game without getting hurt. Why does everyone want him in a middle forward role? The number 9 and number 13 take the most punishment in the ruck, no place for a fragile ageong half.

I agree Russell.

I reckon it’s like this:
If we get Cleary for 2019 then Brooks and Cleary are halves. Marshall retires, Reynolds is 14.
If we don’t get Cleary next year Brooks and Reynolds are halves and Benji is 14

I’d be looking at Twal as a potential long term 13.

That's a much better idea given he's on the light side for a front rower - he does have a good engine though and he doesn't miss a lot of tackles.

3 into 2 doesn’t go. I don’t think we can accomodate all of them. As much as I love him, idk where grub fits in if we have the other two. Pretty expensive 14\. He’s not a lock. Can’t play him there just to fit him in if he’s not suited or we have better options. Which we do in Twal.

Can’t argue with that. I’m definitely putting him at 14 because I like him. If Cleary wants 4 forwards, or wants to rotate dummy half - Reynolds could be surplus

Grub needs to go and put his money towards Cleary.

He wouldn't last a half at lock… Or any position for that matter.

As we found out with Farah you cant just force someone out of the club because you dont like what they are getting paid.

Yes we might not need Reynolds on about 700k but how do we fix that. Realistically, like how do we actually remove him from the salary cap?

Whats more the time he did spend on the field he brought a heap of energy and we looked a better team.

If fit he might just be worth that money.
