Reynolds

Reynolds is the marquee signing Benji will be in ISP until the inevitable happens Reynolds Hammies clap out .

Reynolds has got to stay in the side whilst he is in current form - I'm afraid Benj has to sit out or play reserves. If Madge keeps picking the side on performance then that's fine by me. It seems he is willing to work with the whole squad - look at ET being dropped for Aloiai and Packer coming in to start for Mats.
I wonder if Madge has the courage to drop Mbye for Thomson and bring Nofa onto the wing. Maybe even Jennings needs a stint in the Reggies. There's no better way to get the most out of a squad of players than keep them competing for their spot and earning the right to play each week.

Elijah Taylor said Wests Tigers star Benji Marshall may learn the hard way that no spot in a Michael Maguire-coached side is guaranteed when he returns from a hamstring injury.

Marshall will have to regain his spot from an in-form Josh Reynolds for the Easter Monday clash with the Eels that will double as the opening of Bankwest Stadium.

Reynolds didn't feature in the opening three rounds of the competition before he got the call up in round four following Marshall's injury.

The former Bulldog suffered a golden-point loss to the Panthers in round four before helping his club to a win over Brisbane on Thursday night.

"Reynolds has come into the side and brought another level of energy and enthusiasm, and that combination with him and [Luke] Brooksy has been working really well," Taylor said on Saturday.

"Madge will have a bit of a headache deciding who to put in with Benji being right for the Parramatta game.

"I guess it’s a good problem to have though - it shows our depth in key positions.

"But in saying that neither of those players should be playing in reserve grade because they offer too much to a team."

Wests Tigers fullback Moses Mbye said the side didn't have to look too far to find the motivation required to beat the Broncos.

"The way we lost against Penrith was quite deflating but I think it gave everyone that little bit more motivation, little fire in the belly, to bounce back," Mbye said.

"It was a bit of a scrappy win but we showed a real will to win and showed some real resilience."

The Wests Tigers have a 10-day turnaround before they run out against the Eels. Mbye said that is ample time to prepare well.

"We have no excuses going into round six, we have plenty of time to recover and prepare well," he said.

"[Blake] Ferguson coming into their side has added a massive impact, he's really filled the role of Semi Radradra which was what they were missing and Mitchell Moses is in fine form.

"It's going to be a good atmosphere with a full house at Bankwest Stadium - we're all really looking forward to being one of the first teams to run out there on Easter Monday."

On a weekend off before they prepare the face the Eels, Taylor and Moses took the chance to spread the word about rugby league at Sydney's Royal Easter Show.

Eels Will Smith and David Gower, Dragons Joe Lovodua and Jason Saab and Bulldogs Renouf, Tui Katoa and Brandon Wakeham will also visit the iconic event.

"It's a great initiative by the NRL, getting us players out here to promote the game and chat with some of the game's fans,” Mbye said.

I'm a bit concerned that Madge will try to make a place for Benji in the side when in reality, he is not needed right now. Madge always talks him up, even when he's playing bog average, so I'm not sure he will have the guts to drop him completely. Hope I'm wrong, because putting Benji on the bench just for the sake of having him in the team will totally stuff up the good bench rotation we have going on now.

I think he is great and should be an important part of the teams future, unfortunately i heard directly from a coach at manly he is being shopped around.

I think he is just saying the right things, Benji has prevoiusly gitten a bit stroppy when he gets negative feedback.

I doubt it Spud. Sadly, no place for Benji, even on the bench, the way the halves are playing. Plus they both go for 80 minutes. It's a bit sad considering what Benji has done for the team (talking the positive stuff here - not the crap games) and his heart has always been Tigers.
As a pro footballer he can see the spark we have now, surely.
Whatever becomes of him, I'll never forget his past brilliance - and the premiership!
Sure to be his last season and the fans will show their appreciation.

Reynolds cleared of serious knee damage

Wests Tigers playmaker Josh Reynolds has been cleared of serious damage to his knee and could return to NRL action within three weeks.
Scans have confirmed Reynolds suffered only a strain to the medial ligament in his right knee after he limped from the field early in Saturday's win over the Gold Coast.
The former NSW State of Origin five-eighth was being assessed further on Monday but it's understood the Tigers are hopeful he will only miss between two to four games.
Reynolds' absence will, however, open the door for Benji Marshall to reclaim the Tigers' No.6 jersey.
Marshall is expected to return from a hamstring injury on Saturday night against the Sydney Roosters, with the club having taken a cautious approach since he last played in round three.
Marshall had earlier beaten Reynolds out for the five-eighth role, forcing the former Canterbury half to start the season in reserve grade.
It comes after Reynolds has had a rotten run of injuries since joining the Tigers, playing only five games last year due to hamstring and shoulder problems.
