Huge fan of The Angels as a young bloke

I even joked in my school's Year 12 yearbook I wanted to become a roadie for the Angels

I'm guessing a lot on here are too young , but does anyone have a favourite Angels moment when they saw them in concert

Probably have seen them about a dozen times , but most memorable concerts were at the Redbank Plains Hotel in Ipswich by themselves (well as the lead act ) and Surfers Paradise international Raceway for Raceway Rock with Rose Tattoo and ZZ Top

Raceway Rock would of been one of my 5 favourite concerts of all time

RIP Doc you were the best mate

Yeah i grew up listening to the angels .

I think the first time that I saw him was at Eastwood hotel as a fourteen year old in late 79.

Growing up in a period when you could see the bands that were in the charts at a pub within a reasonable radius was so great, and the Angels were one of the mainstays. Also helped that I was tall and no photo ID back then.

I have fond memories of regularly having a few drinks with Doc and the Brewster boys at War and Peace in Parramatta when the Angels were first starting out. Sad to see another Aussie music icon passing away.

LIVELINE would still have to be one of the best albums of all time to get a party rockin to. A fantastic band that was made all the better by Doc's amazing, unique voice. Many great memories of days gone by listening to the crazy Irishman and his bandmates. A legend. RIP big fella, you will always be remembered as an icon in Oz music history.

RIP DOC

Showing my age here…but the Angels were a great Rock band in the 80’s..I was fortunate enough to see them when they were at their peak and when Aussie Rock was huge...a sad loss and even sadder that the Brewster boys didn’t want anything to do with Doc during his battle with brain cancer.

Yeh I saw them a few times…hard to remember just where...bondi lifesaver or the astra and I think that pub in punch bowl that's now creation club

Rip doc

Edit. The Sundowner Hotel

Only saw The Angels once with support Spy vs Spy and The Happening Thing at Tiffany's in Blacktown (now a food court)

Doc looked so mean on stage given his height and dark eyes.

The punters in the mosh pit where mainly bikies slam dancing. crazy stuff.

Great performance and The Angels part of the once great pub culture that no longer exists today. Feel sorry for today's youth and the crap they have to listen too.

We have now lost the following muscians from bands I grew up with and saw;

Mark Hunter (Dragon)
Christie Amphlett (Divinyls)
Michael Hutchinson (INXS)
Paul Hester (Crowded House drummer)
Steve Prestwich (Chisel drummer)
Guy McDonough and Brad Robinson (both Oz Crawl)

Doc Neeson another name to the list.

Paul Gray (WA WA NEE lead singer battling cancer at the moment)

RIP.
