It seems that the most creative people are also the most tortured, brilliance comes with great depression!, not everyone can cope with the fame, how many people here worship Kurt Cobain, similar situation, one at the start of their career and one at the end.

Leroy - you got it. That question you asked still rattles me - "how many people here worship Kurt Cobain"? That's a beauty - i had to laugh - but seriously, I'm talking ole blue eyes himself - Frank Sinatra. He's got it all over Cobain. Who here worships Sinatra would distinguish the mice from the men.

Robin Williams, Beethoven, Nikola Tesla, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Elvis Presley, Marlon Brando, Tommy Raudonikis and co……

They are in a class of their own.

It was in my foray of Asia that I came across Good Morning Vietnam. It bent my mind. Around that time Oliver Stone’s Platoon came out - those 2 films inspired my Vietnam expeditions into the land of Ho Chi Min – Vietnam was just across the road. Cambodia was in the back pocket. Laos you could smell. The rest is history. They did it to me.

Top 4 Robin Williams roles

1. Good Morning Vietnam
2. Fisher King
3. Aladdin
4. Good Will Hunting

Sad
At the end of the day, he could make everybody happy but himself

whatdya mean - what's wrong with Aladdin?

A man who spent his time on Earth bringing sunshine into the lives of others, whilst his own life was filled with storm clouds.
Nanu Nanu

GOOD WILL HUNTNG is a good movie.
Are the suicide reports true? If so, I am not suprised.
His over the top interviews and personalityall seemed a it fake.
No doubt when the lights went out and the cameras switched off it was comedown time for Robin.

What a great career though,
R.I.P - you legend.
Depression can get anyone.

No pity here..

People have almost nothing in other parts of the world and make the most out of life..

Yet how many people have had a successful upbringing/career and made enough money that others would only dream to have, yet they resort to alcohol or drugs to escape whatever problems they face..

Seemed like a nice genuine guy, but if he didn't value his life in the end, why should anyone else.

Respectfully you must have had little experience with or understanding of mental illness. There is no rational thinking with sufferers. How you perceive them and how they view themselves are polar opposite. Its got nothing to do with material wealth or talent. The drugs and alcohol are often used as an escape from the negative voices that never stop and hence the lack of sleep due to that.. Its a real illness that is debilitating for the sufferers and devastating for those who love them.

Wow. How insensitive.

This shows we are all human and vulnerable to pressures of modern society, no matter how rich or poor.
I think a lot of wealthy people know money cant buy happiness.
Be careful….it can affect anyone.

He gave joy happiness and put smiles on millions of peoples faces...a sad sad end.

One of the few American commedians that I found funny. He was so far out there - quite brilliant at times. If you haven't watched him do the 'Two drunk Scotsmen' (inventing golf), check it out on you tube. A great way to remember him!
Thanks for the laughs!
