I'm just really saddened by this. He was a favourite player of mine. He was a great young cricketer and an even better bloke. He took every demotion from the team on the chin and always looked to improve himself. He was likely to be the next long term Test opener after Rogers.
RIP Phil. You'll forever remain not out.

Such a devastating result for a young man doing what he loves, this has numbed me and I'm sure all sports fans and people alike feel the same.

My thoughts and condolences to his family and friends and also to young Sean Abbott, I can not imagine how he must feel and my thoughts are with him as well.

As much as i felt this was coming , you become in denial to the facts of what is going to occur .
Gives me great sadness to even be typing this R.I.P Hughes , Loved watching you Bat .
Spare a thought for Sean Abbott who will feel responsible for taking his mates life in a freak accident .
