Robbie Farah dismisses suggestions he might leave the Wests

Just an attempt to destabilise the mighty Wests Tigers before their journey towards the 2012 Minor Premiership/Premiership!

Basically that the story was a disgrace and wouldn't eveb pass as a fiction piece. The fact that Robbie had to organise a press conference to defend the rubbish, especially during the difficult time in his life was terrible and that journos need to be more responsible in what they write in regards to the damage to the club, supporters and sponsors it can cause. Obviously they tried to defend him but I got cut off when my point was starting to make them look silly.

I heard you mate, they basically wouldnt back down…Zorba calling it a mighty stoush....once you mentioned Robbies mums illness I think they realized how low theyd sunk, terminated the call pretty quick after
Then Jimmy Smith has the hide to say ''if you dont like it; dont read it /buy it"....Zorba said "You people lap it up"

It really has crossed a line, I mentioned this in another thread yet laT cannot see my point, we as league fans DO lap it up, but we want genuine, interesting, factual news on our team players and our game, thats why we read, watch, listen...we DO NOT want fabricated creative writing BS!

Well for starters I don't buy the DT but as was pointed out before, if they carry a story like this it is picked up by a stack of other outlets, particularly FM radio news who don't bother with their own news departments. I heard the story on 95.3 for example. So this "don't buy the paper" line from the guy on 2KY is just dumb. Also it doesn't give the DT a blank cheque to write crap without consequence. Has anyone thought about lodging a complaint with the Press Council?

I also say the Herald through that forum favourite Danny Weidler had a couple of stories that put the matter in its proper perspective. Sure his motive was more to take a shot at the DT but it was still a nice wrap-up of what really took place.

Interesting articles by all ..that cold breeze still blows though the corridors of Concord, must be a lonley place for some!

I was visiting my mum in hospital today and she had a copy of the Sunday Telegraph there, so I thought I'd take a squiz at what crap they were dishing out now.

They will not let this story go! Rothfield (I think) wrote quite a nasty little piece about Farah blowing up at Sheens after missing out on the test match. He also alluded, AGAIN, to the supposed rift between he and Benji and finished off with a low jibe at Benji saying he should be called the CEO, as he has all the say in what goes on at the club (i.e. Moltzen affair). To print this rubbish after Farah and WT management had already issued a statement refuting this BS is the height of ignorance. These people have no conscience whatsoever.

The media is a very powerful and dangerous tool. They can manipulate the public into believing anything they want them too, which is why when you see garbage published like what was written about Farah, its borderline criminal

Alot of people read online dt articles and it spreads from there. Boycotting the paper doesnt change much. Plus news outlets get their stories from the articles. Talkback callers ad to the hype.

My whole understanding of the situation ( please feel free to correct me if I am wrong) Was that Farah was named as a likely replacement for Cronk as he a broken nose and was not likely to play . Come the fitness test Cronk passed and was put in the squad ahead of Farah .Couple of things I don't get
Why would Farah get upset in the first place if he was only named as a back up and was covering for a possible injured player who passed a fitness test

Is their something that I don't understand or I have wrong

Robbie said he was upset at the time ?? I am confused Was he guaranteed a spot by Sheens ??

Robbie is a football fan with a supposed opportunity to play at Wembley. Maybe that coloured his response to not being selected

If you believe it was some super clear point that I missed, then I apologise. Try not to let things spread across multiple threads though.

i think the sad fact about all this was that we all knew it was bs (or at least most here did that didnt have a hidden agenda against one of the so called warring parties) yet there was a call for who would u want to leave the club between the 2? anyone that was peddling the sheens should go because of this storm in a teacup should be ashamed of themselves.

The BS parts about the story were that Robbie was going to leave, and that there is friction with him and Benji. Both are absolute fairy tales.

But, it is fact that Farah and Sheens are not mates. It is absolute fact.

Ok Balmain Bug, but why does Sheens keep picking him on the end of year trips when he has Smith and Cronk and has had Gidley the previous two years before this year!! There has to be some love somewhere, don't you think ??

It may be a fact Bug, but if they couldn't maintain a working relationship one or the other would have left a long time ago.

And if you knew it was BS about Robbie leaving, why would you start a thread that only served in further perpetuating the angst and division around the rumour?

I started a thread asking people if one had to leave who would you prefer. Nothing more or less.

Farah is the ultimate professional and so is Sheens , the only difference is that Sheens is Nuts.
They can get on with each other easily but there has been tension since Prince signed with the Gold Coast and Sheens lieing about getting a quality half in to replace him year after year.

Hardly a crime even if true.

That said, I do recall Robbie bailing Sheens out on that poat match presser where we lost to parra, the night Doust announced Moltzens 'signing'.
Sheens was losing it bigtime, was getting annoyed and frustrated, replied ''bullshit'' to one journo…same journo kept at him and Sheens was about to hit the roof when Robbie sensed this, stepped in calmly took the heat saving Sheens bacon.
Hardly the act of a player that dislikes his coach or two that supposedly dont get on

That's how I saw it too, Happy - Farah in for the injured Cronk. Don't know if Sheens guaranteed him a run or not, regardless of injuries. Maybe Robbie got his hopes up too high, thinking it would be impossible for Cronk to be fit in time and when he was available he got upset, which is understandable, but who knows?

Anyway, my point was that this Rothfield idiot had the audacity to print this second article in yesterday's paper, reigniting the rumours, while completely ignoring Farah's refutation of Ritchie's BS story during the week. I particularly didn't like his jibe at the end about Benji being the 'real' CEO of the WTs either. You could just tell it was written with a real disdain for Benji and the club. Grub of the highest order, imo.

Flip If Benji or Robbie played for the Sharks they would be gods in Slothfields eyes
