ROBBIE FARAH ENJOYS EPL EXPERIENCE
25/10/2011 10:33:21 AM
Wests Tigers Captain Robbie Farah found it hard to control his emotions at Old Trafford on Sunday night.
A self confessed soccer tragic, Farah attended two English Premier League matches soon after landing in the UK with the Australian Kangaroos for the Four Nations tournament.
Here is what Robbie had to say in his first tour update for weststigers.com.au
“Our tour has been good so far. We spent a couple days in camp at Coogee before leaving Sydney. It was very hard to leave the awesome weather for the cold winter of England but I have to say the weather so far has been pretty good.
We landed at 6:30 am on Saturday in London then had a 4 hour bus trip to Manchester. We literally put our bags down then a few of us were in the train to Liverpool to get to the Liverpool v Norwich game.
It was a disappointing result for my beloved Liverpool but it is always a great experience at Anfield.
Sunday was the Manchester derby at Old Trafford. I went down to the stadium without a ticket but managed to find a guy that sold me his for 175 pound.
I went in and sat by myself surrounded by Manchester United supporters. Being a Liverpool fan, I was of course cheering for Manchester City. Every time they scored, I had to cheer on the inside for fear of being killed!
It was a great experience, especially to see Man Utd get beat 6-1! Awesome.
Other than that, things have been pretty low key. I'm rooming with fellow tiger Chris Lawrence which is good. We are now preparing for the first game this week against New Zealand.”
