Robbie Hammers JT

@GNR4LIFE I can agree with you on that, not begrudgingly either! He really did not behave in the best interests of club or fans at the time and think he should have the chance to be judged on how he goes out, that’s all. Marshall was in a similar boat once upon a time except he doesn’t have nearly the same dominant kinda personality as Robbie. I wish Liddle was playing tomorrow as well to continue his sharing of the rotation but that didn’t go so well last week!

@Geo very telling... still comes back to what is mediocre? Will be anything but a win this weekend as the boys and boys alone have responsibility for our season now

The judgement of others surrounding the club; I’m happy for to be after rd. 1 next year

Can we as fans not all accept the man that our #9 is and just get on with things to show our gratitude, or at the very least a positive attitude going into a massive weekend for the future. He’s all but admitted these will be his last few games and I’d like to judge on that

Not whatever ‘gee’ up line he threw like a bone to a rookie journalist dog

You know 360 is complete crap *usually* geo , Time will tell I guess who handled themselves better from the two . Me personally? Care less

360 do love to fuel the fires... Kent specialises in getting a response ie: clicks/comments/ratings etc... It's good yet trash

Meanwhile JT has probably handled himself best of the lot of then... Will we hear from him today?

The smart one in all of this is Jason Taylor , he is still
young and involved in the game and has kept his mouth shut .His right of reply should be good when he decides to unload the other side of the story .. should be interesting reading ! There’s one constant through sacked coaches and CEOs of our club in recent years and that is the name Farah ...even to today with the current CEO losing 6 months of his employment life .

His story, his right to say what he wants about his own life experience, and it is quite likely that he will never accept what happened with JT. And why should he?
Makes no difference to the way people feel about him, minds have been made up about him long ago and he knows that better than any one.

@Snake Agree his name is in everything with media and not for a good reason at Tigers... You don't see Lawerence. Marshall, Brooks, etc.. in these types of things. Gee I hope he just retires at seasons end and we can move on.

@matchball
Without doubt the interview was 'crafted' in such a way to elicit the most sensational responses possible from Farah. That's what 'journalists' do. That is why media training teaches you not to respond to questions unless they fit exactly into your practiced narrative and why so many interviews with pollies are so repetitive and boring.
Delusional, second favourite word on this forum to mediocre. Use it wisely, if you are able.

G'day @gallagher: more truth/facts coming out about 'the real Robbie Farah'.
Former Saints and test legend Rod Reddy was a 'real' man, tougher than Farah ever was, and was prepared to make the tough decisions with regard to getting rid of such a divisive personality from Our Club.
Honestly folks, Farah must have something on Our Club due to the fact he, unfortunately, came back...and continues to be part of a Very Big Problem Our Club has now, and next year at least.
I can't imagine why any thinking person of sound mind would allow, or even suggest, that Farah take up an Ambassador role for Our Club once his playing days were over.
Can any of Our Forumers 'really' feeI positive about Farah being a good and positive Ambassador for Our Club with the amount of NEGATIVITY that he is carrying right now.
It absolutely astounds me that any thinking person of sound mind could even contemplate for more than 1 second allowing Farah to come back to Our Club to play, then have the thought of him being Our Ambassador.
I Just Don't Get It !!!

@MAGPIES1963 that ship should’ve definitely sailed by now I’d say - although people have such an issue with what Farah Did/accepted to come back mid-season , what about Justin Pascoe who can easily be looked upon as the mastermind behind our last 5 season(roughly) .

As a young man who wants to bring passion and success to this area, it’s hard to see such power struggles and really does make me immensely grateful for what I get to call mine everyday (wife, siblings, mother & amazing home where I’ve never been essentially persecuted). Was also always free to put my opinion to my old man who was a journalist at the time... taught me one very crucial lesson... never stop asking the hard questions - seems that mantra has disappeared from the profession nowadays. *Sad*

G'day @Snake: bloody good post mate.
I totally agree with You that Jason Taylor should be thanked by all and sundry for as you said "had the guts and intestinal fortitude to put an out of control Farah in his place".
Also totally agree with your " he has learnt nothing about humility and the correct way to conduct one's self" ...A question to all...that being a fact, do you really feel Farah will ever change and become a Good Ambassador for Our Club? I don't!!!
I also totally agree @Snake with your "only in this situation this week due to inept decisions to bring him back to our club".
All I can say to that is I feel he must have something on someone on Our Club's Board? Have a Great day @Snake :relaxed:

@MAGPIES1963 think the article was just regarding this week m8, more of a focus on the fact he is running out for his 300th NRL game tonight; joining a club of total elites...

I really don’t think he would/want to be worrying about a genuine failed coach. No disrespect to him and he may have had balls but isn’t a bootlace on Robbie Farah. I for one, having been disgraced by R’F’s behaviour over the 2016 season, am looking forward to see him not being even remotely selfish tonight. Think a supporter or two on here could learn from this approach... we only pay to watch the boys win and that’s been a problem for a long time; and has absolutely zilch to do with Rob’s actions or personality in my opinion

As previously said “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” but I’m also of the opinion that everybody deserves a second chance in life, this was his, and if he performs poorly tonight then is liable and deserves to be copping it from all sides, after all this is his chance to prove the two blokes taking pot shots at him all week were wrong about him being a reserve grader. As I think nearly every single on this person has said - JT was a terrible coach, potentially a nicer bloke that Robbie, and is perfectly capable of defending himself from these accusations after they’ve been proven to be his doing as HEAD coach of the club and the wrong decision at the time... if Robbie plays poorly tonight then I feel people like you and @Snake may get a little kick out of it... that’s not how I roll and will be hoping the entire team shows just what it is exactly that they think/feel for Robbie on a huge night not just for the individual but Tigers’ future

@MAGPIES1963 Magpies I'd be interested to learn your definition of tough or what a real man is? In my experience some of the toughest people I have known have been women and obviously they are not real men.

I have no problem at all accepting RF in an ambassador role. He is well spoken and tertiary educated. You seem to be worked up about a relatively minor matter.

G'day @TieDye: as you will have read, I don't agree with a lot you have written here about Robbie Farah, but your most recent posts have been awesome :relaxed: . Have a great day mate and enjoy tonight's game.
Go Tiger's

@GNR4LIFE ok. Delete that line and make it 1, you hahaha, but don’t let me blow you off with a cop out response such your fortè, please give me a good reason you’d like to see him fail !

For our team and supporters to not be happy come the end of 80 minutes tonight. Genuine question as opposed to a sarcastic and snide comment hiding behind a computer screen!

Keep in mind, the question I’m asking has nothing to do with his character or Jason taylor but the fact his boss threatened him with demotion, got his own wishes, didn’t perform, was sacked and now we have a former captain and man who was as close as any to being our one club legend (looks to be Lawrence) back on the books. Played some really good footy last year and even early this year too. You’d have Liddle displacing Farah on a road trip to Newcastle and playing for 80? Again, please don’t deflect there has been plenty of that on this thread, ‘foe’

Am quite stoked you’re not coaching anybody or anything lol, let alone my beloved team you are claiming to be a supporter of tonight. Your opinion’s okay mate but the hateful comments and lack of ingenuity surrounding the topic is just suffocating for others

Sorry mate, was just asking who you were referring to when you were talking about 2 people who were taking pot shots at Farah.

@GNR4LIFE that’s okay, we are both men capable of agreeing about not seeing eye to eye on the hot scoops off the press *yesterday*... honestly it’s not settting me off one bit aside from how annoying it is to have to be in the same boat as you. I’ll clear it up one last time, if Robbie has a shocker and we still win, Madge is an accountability bloke who will make the necessary changes and SUCCEED in implementing them. Taylor wasn’t. Please try and enjoy the game - best wishes ! Maybe a bottle of whiskey could be your pal tonight &most of all mate, peace out.

I’ve got no problem with you personally whatsoever but your question ^ that you seem to think is legitimate and not nit picking to the enth degree has been answered many times as have you yourself. Cheers 🍻

G'day @pawsandclaws1: a 'real' man? I'll pull this old chestnut outa the closet... 'a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do' [hahaha]
And I gotta tell yuh, my friggin wife is pretty damn tough :skull_and_crossbones: .
When she barks all I can do is say 'how high would you like me to jump dear', so I reckon you will be able to work out from this 'I' ain't a real man, so I can't give you a definitive answer @pawsandclaws1, cheers and enjoy the footy :relaxed:

Truth is both Taylor and Farah have both screwed up.

Robbie is an outspoken, emotional kind of guy who has said some things over the years that he probably shouldn’t have.

He fought for his place at the club, believing perhaps that Taylor was just a blow in that didn’t deserve respect.

Taylor, I believe, wasn’t the right person for the job here and history shows his time at the club not only proved unsuccessful but also left a few issues that contributed to setbacks after he was moved on.

We should all just do that, move on, Robbie included.

i still go back to why on earth JT didnt play robbie that day at LO against canberra
JT a great tactitian but no man manager will never get another coaching gig in nrl
Robbie is a champion a premiership and yes getting long in the tooth but he deserves the 300 and LO next week he is a competitor and jim and benji our 2 best. i look back robbie should have been picked for nsw in 2005 when they picked buderus and all those times they picked michael ennis please. He didn’t play against the Raiders for a few reasons. One of them being our side was settled. We’d been winning games without him. We just blew it that day, as we tend to do on big occasions .
