Robbie on NRL On Fox Tonight and The Game Plan Tomorrow

Sometimes agreeing with the "soft" comments isn't needed. Its not like Sheens or any senior player is in denial.

You never hear Bennett agree that his team was crap, in fact on the rare occasion a Bennett team is crap you always see Bennett go on the offensive and sometimes be outright rude to legitimate questions.

What I am saying is, just because we aren't lining up to agree with the detractors, doesn't mean we have blinkers on.

I am encouraged to see us fighting, as long as we band together as a unit I fully believe we will come through this intact.

Bennet's teams rarely play poorly for weeks on end. Bennet's teams never miss the 8.

Sheen's teams?

Glad Johns asked and rapt with how Robbie answered. Farah could have given some cliches and laughed it off but he took the comments to heart and fired back. Great TV!!!

Thats the thing for me.

There was no formulaic answers to deflect, there was passion and commitment behind it all.

Reinstills my faith as a fan when I see things like that.

It is why he is our captain I guess

Perhaps Johns can get Sheens on the show and ask him some hard questions.

Like why he goes into games with two backs on the bench for example?

Johns won't do that because Sheens will dead set embarass him.

Say what you will about Tim as a coach but I have seen media try to back him into a corner before and they never come out looking any good

Can anyone post the interview?

Truth hurts, I hope the boys use this as motivation to kick start our season and stick it straight up 'em.
That goes for us as fans also! It's great to criticise our club but at the end of the day as supporters/fans we need to stick together!
FIRE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont disagree with the idea.

From experience if you catch him in the right mood out and about and ask the right way he will give you some real and honest answers

Sheens has a lot of questions to answer. Would love Matty to grill him on playing two backs on a bench. And to call his team soft which is the biggest insult to a footballer. Make good tv. Sheens would be like Julia gillard and need to see the questions before going on. I say if you earn the big bucks like sheens and co you need to be accountable. Take the good with the bad. Love you Matty for telling farah what the tigers fans believe

Bennetts teams have been under pressure before, and he never reacts well. There have been media frenzies over his post game attitudes.

We lost a Test series and Bennett wouldn't even front the media, he snuck out of the airport using a VIP exit and left our side to face the music by themselves.

I'm just pointing out that fans seem to be lining up to hear us agree that we are soft…just because we don't jump out of our skins to agree with Gallen/Johns etc, doesn't mean we are blinded to how we are going.

Some people in here seem to have made it their only purpose in life to hear Sheens and co admit they are the worst on earth.

I will put a transcript up tomorrow in this thread unless already done. Not sure words will best show how it went down so hopefully someone gets the video on. I'm not that clever.

It was good viewing. Johns asked the questions the fans are asking. Whilst Robbie was uncomfortable and agitated, he was given the chance to state his case and did well.

@ShayNarsey: “@azsportza: Here is the segment from #NRLonFox - The quality isn't the best but you get the point. Enjoy http://t.co/s3Paemp9 ”@LeagueFreak

Johns deserves credit for asking the hard questions. Robbie deserves credit for taking the questions seriously and replying in an aggressive manner in body language, tone of voice and denials re Johns' comments that the team is soft, he and Benji aren't talking and the senior players have no respect for Sheens.

Robbie could have just denied in a manner like politicians do but instead he arked up and strongly denied the 'rumours' and tried to put it back on Johns being ardament that the players are putting in, that they have been in this situation before and worked hard and worked their way out of it. He also argued that the players are close, no rift and such comments about he and benji piss him off and also piss Benji off. He wrapped Sheens as a coach being one of the best in the NRL.

He handled himself strongly like a captain should defend his club and team mates and he also asked for the supporters continued support.

You know what?

The club captain firing up and promising the fans they will come good is enough for me.

Yeh….actions will do me fine thanks....heard more than enough talk already this year
"we wanna start the season well"
"coach challenges the forwards" :blah

Actions.

Last year after the parra game, after the Moltzen crap and all the other rumours….when sheens lost it at the journo - swearing at him and carrying on, with robbie having to rescue him......we then went on to win 9 straight

AWESOME work from Matty Johns.

He's a Tigers fan and he's trying to fire them up. He's just saying what most of us have been thinking. We ARE soft at times. Hopefully this fires the whole team up.

If it doesn't…............................

Tigers fan?! Don't make me laugh…

Good point Ink, hope history repeats itself. On another note re NRL on FOX tonight I noticed all of the commentators bagged Moltzen. Out of all the players rated, he was bagged by all those on the panel being Johns, Guyer, Kent, Ikin.
