Robbie vs Smith vs Ennis

Unless Farah plays consistent great football and/or Ennis plays consistent ordinary football, I see the selectors sticking with Ennis for the first game. How Ennis goes in that first game will decide Farah's fate.

According to NRL.com….Ennis stats to half time against Souffs read.....

0 points 0 runs 0 mts 0 offloads 0 try assists 0 linebreak assists 14 tackles 2 missed....

the stuff Origin Legends are made of.....I can see what Lozza sees in him....it's the niggle.. :unamused:

ennis has been dead set sulking for the last 10 minutes, he's touched the ball once and is just telling everyone else to go into dummy half.
cat
& now he's nocked it on

I can't get over Daley.

Warren Smith: "Souths have really targetted Ennis all night, they've rused up at him all night and he hasn't been able to scoot away from dummy half"

Daley: "It's because Souths have slowed down the play the ball, with no quick play the balls Ennis hasn't had any room to move"

He is so biased it wasn't funny. Ennis was rubbish tonight. Dave Taylor should have smacked him out when he had the chance, when Ennis was talking shit yet again. Can't wait till someone decks the forehead-less mug.

@Snowy:

Yeah course that worked oh so well last year didnt it??? :unamused:

:deadhorse:

Farahs got a lot of work to do to see a blue jumper again imo

It did a lot of the young blokes did well, whats your solution then Sean?

I guess all Farah can do is win games for the Tigers.
If the Tigers are in the top 4 come origin time he will be hard to ignore.
At the moment though it looks like Ennis will get the first crack
and if the blues win the series with Ennis there
Farah will find it tough to dislodge him.

LOL@ daley saying ennis is just as damaging offensively as robbie, seriously maybe laurie should look at the line breaks, line break assists, tries, try assists and 40/20s stats from the last 3 years

what a douche

that was an absolutely ridiculous comment but not unexpected.
i don't think daley understands numbers greater than 2 so there's no point in him looking at stats.

I saw that and with it I just shook my head and kissed Robbie's chance of playing Origin 1 goodbye.

I mean its pretty obvious Daley prefers Ennis, he admitted after rd 1 that he had Ennis as the hooker AND captain in his fantasy side you could see Daley being infatuated by Ennis when he was on NRL on Fox, and now Daley is coming out with comments and excuses for Ennis like he did tonight.

By the way, fox sports fantasy points says it all:

Points accumulated by Farah for rd 4: 55
Points accumulated by Ennis for rd 4: 7
Points accumulated overall by Farah: 153 (Rd 1: 27 pts, Rd 2: 42 pts, Rd 3: 29 pts Rd 4: 55 pts).
Points accumulated overall by Ennis: 26 (Rd 1: 5 pts, Rd 2: N/A, Rd 3: 13 pts, Rd 4: 8 pts).

Ranking for the hooking position:
Farah 2nd (Luke is 1st)
Ennis: 18th

I think Ennis is starting to feel the pressure of his battle for the origin spot. I thought tonight Ennis tried very hard but to ended up having a very poor game. I think Farah had now snuck out in front.

By the way if anyone on here is confident about Robbie getting hooker for the first game on origin theres a head to head market on sportingbet.
Michael Ennis - $1.60
Robbie Farah - $2.20
They look very good odds IMO.

This is the same Daley who picked Jamie Lyon for City/Country and Origin despite him not wanting to be there, he is a dead set goose. Nowdays I wonder if it's the same guy who was a superstar of the 90s.

I hope when we play the Dogs Ellis smashes Ennis to smithereens!

Better yet, how about Robbie smashing him to smithereens!!

I wish he'd smash him like this:

If a certain NSW selector liked Robbie, suddenly Ennis goes back to being the average first grade hooker that he is. In all honesty, Ennis' name should never be in the same sentence as Smith, Farah and Buderus.

Or Isaac Luke.

I bet the NSW selectors would love to steal Benji and Luke from the Kiwi's.

Benji yes but Luke would be behind Farah.

This year the selectors won't have a say. Bellamy will get the side he wants. He will decide the hooker spot and I think he will go with Farah.

Cam Smith is world class. Robbie is just as talented as Smith is but he still needs to prove himself at rep level.

HOWEVER… Anyone with half a brain knows that Farah is a better footballer than Ennis. What is unforgivable is the measly 2 games Farah was given to prove himself at Origin level last year. The current batch of NSW selectors are shockingly awful at their jobs.

Cameron Smith had played in 10 Origin games for QLD before he had won a series. In fact, most of the key players of the current Queensland team, (Lockyer, Smith, Price, Petro, Hodges, Crocker...), have all been playing for QLD together since 2003\. QLD may have lost 3 series in a row from 2003-2005, but during those tough losses they stuck with that core group as mentioned above... allowed them enough time to develop as a team... and ever since 2006 they have been unbeatable. The NSW Selectors however... will pick their players, demand instant success, give them about 1 or 2 game to prove themselves, and then drop them for a less talented player when it doesn't work out.

Last year QLD made 9 positional & personnel changes throughout last year's origin series. NSW made 22\. Look back through the records and its been pretty much the same story for about the last 6 years.

Ennis could be a half decent footballer if he concentrated on playing good footy instead of being the worlds biggest grub. He was dead lucky playing against an uninterested QLD team last year in game 3\. The thing that annoyes me more than ever is that he probbably thinks he has got one over Robbie by getting that win. However knowing what the NSW selectors are like i'm sure that Robbie will given another crack at it at some point this year.

It would be fantastic if he could emulate Benny Elias even further and become a true Origin hero. He just has to step up when the time comes.
