Note: previous post edited - my sincere apologies to all - but Hybrid Tiger specifically!!

No excuses for my faults but this matter has hurt me personally!

Thank you….

It does highlight how quickly this thread and issue can degenerate...I agree that in times like this we need to show the support I know Wests Tigers supporters have both for Robert Lui and fellow supporters....

Hybrid....I will find out for you...

Geoff its cause as usual (hybrid) resorted to the insult at redemption which was then replied back to.

I was merely responding to being accused of racism.

Do you think thats acceptable?

No but you always call some a idiot and think you can get away with it.For the record i dont know what he was on about but my point is valid. He apologised would you…i think not

I tried to PM HT - but it failed.

So I want to state here that I never intended to imply that Hybrid Tiger is a racist!!

He is not a racist in any way!

Apparently hes facing nine charges i dont know what they all are but if it is nine charges holy cow.

The charges are listed earlier in the thread, check page 2.

So disappointing. If the charges are proven to be correct I would not want him at the club, even if he was to be picked up by another, I take pride that the tigers do not have any 'troubled' style players, I would however want the club to try to offer counseling etc to help straighten out his life, not just for him but also his future child's sake.

If he is innocent than I hope this is cleared up quickly and the club does however ensures some alcohol counseling and relationship counseling to ensure his future (not just football) is a bright one. I guess we will just have to wait and see what the courts say, till then all we can do is reserve judgment.

after just reading his charges rap sheet on page 2 hopefully there still is a future child.

You still have a personal issue with me for some reason. I accept his apology, but I have nothing to apologise for. I was merely reacting how anyone would have.

Now, back on topic, for anyone interested the charges are as follows:

The offences include two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three of common assault, one of malicious damage, one of choke with intent to commit an indictable offence, one of detain for advantage and one of aggravated robbery.
>
Three of the charges relate to offences committed in May this year.

Lets Hire the guy who got Inglis off..

With all due respect mate I don't want to hire anybody with the thoughts of getting him off, if he has done what is alleged then Im sorry but there is no place in our club for that type of action. Whilst I don't know him personally I do know his previous boss very well and from my discussions with him this does seem to be out of character.

However in no way can the club tolerate this type of action by one of our players. Sheens isn't the type of coach that would condone this whatsoever and I hope that the young man gets all the support necessary from our club but if he is found guilty then Im sorry but he needs to serve a lengthy penalty by being stood down for a period of time next season.

I dont think sacking him is necessarily the right move but i would hope that a punishing off-season followed up by some serious time on the side lines or in State Cup is in store for him.

Such a sad way to finish such a proud season.

What a sad situation. Its a subject that should not be joked about. If this allegations are true, he has to be let go. Hopefully they are not, and he can continue his career.

Hmmm…strange. Glad its only coming out now I guess.

one of choke with intent to commit an indictable offence

You learn something new every day, had never heard of this before...woulda thunk its the same as assault

I totally agree!

We have a duty to get him right via counselling etc if the allegations are proven!

We have a duty to get him right via counselling etc if the allegations remain unproven!

We simply have a duty of care to the kid - and I know the boys intend to look after him!

The alleged behaviour is reprehensible - but the youngster deserves some latitude from the club based on his character - and NOT just his on-field performances (that have proved him to be a future star)!

I know his old billets (& we need these wonderful people as they only do this for their love for the Tigers club) - and they would be devastated!!

I was not having a go - but we do not need 14 y.o.'s being treated as virtual adults - hijackinging conversations about adults!!!!

HT - xxxoooo

The kid is a lovely bloke by nature - but the hectic nature of life as a top-grade professional has had a profound impact!!!
>
The Club needs to support him (and are doing so by bailing him out and providing supported alternative accommodation for him)!!

this (amongst other quotes here) makes me feel physically ill.

we are talking about a grown ADULT - not a minor, a 20 year old adult - who has some extremely serious allegations placed against him.

i am so sick and tired of the dribble about how the pressure gets to them/it's not their go/blah blah blah blah - these charges are repulsive and yet they are basically (IMO) being excused away here by some as being the clubs fault for 'not supporting him enough/he's just a boy' - FMD - bail him out? provide him with alternative accomodation? should we hire a freaking nanny service to hold their hands and wipe their rear ends as well?

We have a duty to get him right via counselling etc if the allegations are proven!

umm no - if they are proven he will be doing his counselling etc in a place that the NSW Govt will be funding.

but the youngster deserves some latitude from the club based on his character

give you a hot tip - talk to DV survivors - most of the perpetrators aren't even on the radar of the average person of being capable of committing DV - so because he's a 'good kid' or however you want to phrase it (just paraphrasing) we should all rally round, give him a cuddle and tell him he'll be ok? i'm all for innocent until proven guilty but there's a line in the sand and this is the line.

I hope that the young man gets all the support necessary from our club but if he is found guilty then Im sorry but he needs to serve a lengthy penalty by being stood down for a period of time next season.

yes let's just put him in reserves *if* he's found guilty of these charges :unamused: you are kidding me right???

he will be in prison *if* the allegatons against him are proven - he will not have a contract with the club if they have half a brain and no one should touch him with a 50 foot pole.

eta…indictable offence i understand would mean manslatughter/murder as opposed to assault/GBH.
