what corner???? Show me where they wanted him sacked???? show me the threads from unhappy member or forum members asking for his head. they were all praise for him during the good times..

Love the goody goody members.. somehow i dont think its my short memory… i think its selective from guys like you who will only look down on someone or something like this when it suits you... soon as its all good and tigers are winning its forgotten...or the player is in form.. once agian its forgotten....Dont hear the Souths fans crying for GI head... Id like to see a thread on their forum asking for boycotts on games cause he is at the club.... you wont find one cause their wouldnt be

But that is pretty much what most members on this forum is about... nothing different to when the tigers win... the knockers are no where near the place..
 
Doesn't work like that, you made the claim so its up to you to present facts to back it up. Thats the way burden of proof works in life.

Has what happened got anything to do with u??? No i dont think it does.. All i said was dont beleive what u read in the papers.. i havnt made any claims or presented any Facts….
and since when do the papers write fact or the full truth???

its like the the current drug stories atm.... If the media even bothered to do a half assed job in their investigations there would be a whole new story

Im now lost what your actual point is so I think I'm done. I just ask that you think before you try to dilute the story of a scum bag. Over time people forget what bird did and what inglis did and eventually what Lui did. I dont want people to forget. I want people to remember that bird glassed a women, Lui headbutted/kicked a women, inglis assulted a women. Once the girlfriends drops charges/muppets post things like " the media reported it wrong" and the players start playing footy again the story seems to fade away which I think is wrong. And FYI, having that opinion is not being on a moral high horse, its called being part of society.

Not once have i condoned what he did… and if you read back, if i was the NRL i would have booted him for Life... as would i have for Inglis and Bird.. so i think you and i can agree on that.

as for me making a statement, about the media. Ill stand by what i said. but its not my place to say what happened.. Or anyones on this forum.. What he did was wrong.. Yes and Simple But there is still more to it..

But peoples morals gets lost when it comes to a players ability.. you cant tell me the fans will kick up a stink if we signed someone like Inglis.. things like this get forgotten based on performance on the field
 
Personally I would take him back if he was available, as T. rex has stated dont believe everything you read there are always different views.
I've actually met Rob a few times through a mutal friend and have heard a different version of events but I won't elaborate either.
My point being is you can't always tar everyone with the same brush,nice bloke good footy player been a bit silly at times.
 
I know of a highly respected former player who was kind enough to elaborate on the fact that there was more to that story than meets the eye

The question was: "Would you take Lui back" and not "Would you froth at the mouth if Inglis became a free agent?"

If Lui headbutted your daughter or sister you would not be saying "but what if Inglis did it" - it would be an outright and emphatic "NO".

IMO if you are diverting, reasoning or rationalizing Lui in any way and attempting to appeal to a broader sense of compassion then you are an advocate for woman bashing.

Furthermore, any discussion on this topic can cause potentially terrible PR for the Tigers and if I was a moderator I would shut down this thread.

You dont discredit the merit and accuracy of a journalists newspaper report by making partial and unsubstantiated statements anonymously through an internet forum in response. If you have something to say that differs from what was reported, then say it and state your sources and give people the opportunity to make their mind up.

So far from 3 pages we have learned the following "Dont believe everything you read in newspapers". Thanks got it. It goes 100x for things you read on the internet from anonymous sources.
 
I think the points T-Rexx make are valid ones. If a situation came up where we were an absolute realistic chance at bringing GI to the club, supporters would be falling over themselves to get him and they would throw their moralistic views out the window. Sure, its easy to sit here now and say you wouldn't cos he'll never come to the club, so saying no is an easy out. But deep down im sure 99% of you know deep in your gut know you'd take him in a heartbeat
 
And for the record, no I wouldn't take him back after his repeated spousal abuse. I can accept he was given a warning, and an opportunity to improve as a person and demonstrate it was an out-of-character aberration. His girlfriend supported him at the time, though many were unhappy about it.

But surely no one could possibly agree that it would be a sensible decision to sign him if he was interested and available. It would be an incredibly poor decision and bring warranted scrutiny to the club. Fooled me once, shame on you, fooled me twice shame on me. Fooled me a third time…

Regarding Inglis and Bird, whilst there might not be a moral argument to sign either on the basis that it is the same offence committed by Lui, there is a very important difference in that neither were WT players at the time. Consider the following workplace analogy: You might consider employing a person with a spent criminal record, but would you employ a person with a recent criminal record and where the crimes he was convicted of were committed against your company when he was employed by you?
 
Why do people only condemn the other 2 in these kinds of threads? i guarantee if we were playing Souths this week and somebody started a thread about how we need to control Inglis, not one word of his off-field drama's would be mentioned, yet if we were playing the Cows and the same thread appeared about Lui, it would get hijacked about his off-field dramas. Can anybody tell im wrong about that?
