I hope Taylor realises that Simona is a winger. Swapping Simona and Nofoaluma is the best move. Simona has more agility and is dangerous returning the ball, Nofoaluma is a great hole runner and super strong. Swap em!

I think I agree with this. I remember one time Nofo being turned inside off a scrum and the way hit the hole I thought "gee we need to get him in more situations like that"…and the centre's is exactly where he will get those opportunities.

He's a superb finisher though and we would miss that.

I'm pretty sure Nofo came through the ranks as a fullback. But I'm with you both here. I seriously believe Nofo could be an excellent centre and would suit his game a lot more. He's got that strong, fast, burrowing type of run in his game and would take more players to stop him. He would likely be able to ball play from his time at fullback so if he could bring that into his game to set up his winger it could be a great move pushing him one in to centre. The only downfall is Nofo is very good in the air.

Simona could play wing or centre. He's got great footwork and speed but isn't the best defender. So you could really toss a coin on him as to leaving him in the centres. But I think he would be pretty gun at wing with that footwork and ability to fend off or get outside his opposite and beat them for pace.

Look in my opinion Samoa would probably be the No 2 side in the world if they had a quality 6 and 7

After New Zealand or Australia?

Agreed though, huge forward back and very skillful backs, just lack the polish at the end of sets

Blaming Woodsy for Cam smiths grab on Simona!

Outrageous!

Def Smith's tackle…..he was already past Woodsie when he threw the arm out.

Tough one, Woodsie was the marker and sprinted across-field to make the numbers. He got stepped inside - where was the inside man? It's a team game, they all need to move together.

This is the same in rugby union. The Pacific Islanders rarely produce the great halves that Australia and NZ do. And the NRL don't care about that. As long as Australia wins then international rugby league is doing well in their eyes… :unamused:

Of course it was Smith's tackle. But once missed, it then became Woods' tackle and he switched off. That gave Simona the split second to slide past him.
Be professional and compete on every play. Excusing what Woods did is exactly why we suck at the moment. Yes it was mainly Smith's fault, no one has said it wasn't.

100 percent. Smith's pissweak attempt at tackle was something even a bloke playing his 1st game would be ashamed of…let alone some muppet who is supposed to be the captain of his country and setting the example. It was pathetic. Hope he has a similar effort in the final and it costs his team the Four Nations, that would be a pleasure to see.

The most astounding thing to me was hearing Ray Warren say only one Samoan player was actually born in Samoa!
