Roosters

All TPAs for sure. Pretty sure Politis sets plenty of his players up with real estate in the East too.

Anything that Politis arranges for them is not 3rd party, he is a related entity.

By definition a 3rd party arrangement is supposed to be a payment to a player from someone not related to the club, with the payment not being linked to the player being at the club. A classic TPA would be a media gig or a boot sponsorship.

Ill never know how the Throughbreds meet that definition either.

I think it is the TPA's that lead to most of the rorting of the cap…

They're rorting the cap. How they are still getting away with it now that Schubert has been arseholed is beyond me.

Go through their tax records.

My thoughts as well.

What's probably thrown everyone off was the year where they frontloaded Maloney's contract. Even taking him into account, no one can argue that he is paid enough to offset everyone's contracts?

Maybe I am just more sceptical because I think they are a scumbag club and I always look for fault in them.

If we had their success, not many would be complaining. We'd be lucky to be in the position they're in.

Id love their success, I however am suspicious about how they have achieved it.

I was also sceptical about Melbourne's success, that has now been explained.

I expect a similar result here in due course.

Not my style to be a conspiracy theorist, but this squad is too good to be legal, given how they assembled it.

The salary cap is near impossible to police, their are so many ways a club can either bend the rules or venture outside the rules. The TPA agreement was a brain dead idea from the outset, the salary cap was introduced to try and get the bottom teams and the top teams on the same playing field, but the TPA,s has allowed the top teams to put a gap between them and the rest, so we are back to where we started from. Okay every club can get their own TPA's, but teams like the Roosters have no problems at all getting them, while most teams really struggle to get them

If we were in Easts position, I'd be very worried about possible exposure for salary cap breaches.

I have wondered how the dogs manage their books. They have the like 4 origin players? All those forwards (Graham, Pritchard, Eastwood et al) and then in the backs they have the Morris twins etc

They bought one of the best up and coming hookers in the game, they were chasing LA and managed to tentatively sign all three Mat'utai brothers?

Perhaps I'm thinking too much?
