Rory Brien

So, what are the opinions on Rory brien? He looks a good chance for playing some nrl this year if any injuries come up, or even if they don't. Just read he scored FOUR tries in the nsw cup game (as of 51min) and 7 in 3 trial games. I'm thinking he is better than noafoluma right now. Also, teddy seems to be playing solidy as is Luke Brooks. But, back to Brien. He appears to be the best centre not in the 17 we have at the tigers? Any opinions on that?

I mentioned that before he scored the 4 tries as I have actually seen him play before. But so many people went against me so I just stopped.

yeah, i dunno. it is reserve grade, but FOUR tries is nothing to be laughed at. More than Big T and Tedesco put together in ALL trial games in 2013 i believe, haven't counted them up but teddy's scored 1 and big t a couple i think. He seems like he is reallyyyy pushing for an nrl berth as soon as the first player goes down, wing or centre. Big T is bigger, and perhaps faster too so that could lead to more impact at an NRL level, but you never know.

To me, it's basically Taqele and Rory that have a good chance in getting to NRL quickly. Nofoaluma, not such a fan to be honest.

Okay, better eat my words about him outscoring big t and tedesco cause taqele just scored a double in 7 minutes…

He averaged 50+ tackles in NYC I really hope he gets a run tonight instead of BMM

lol Rory Brien has scored 7 tries in total over 3 trials. Big T has scored about 5 and Tedesco 2 so it would be the same.

Yeah sounds about right, although I said that when big t hadnt scored a double so it was more like 3 + 2, in all trials versus 4 from rory in the one game. However, teddy's coming back from an injury and gets less game time because of NRL committments.

By the way he plays Center & Lock. When he played at lock he was being referred to as the next Hindy at Parra and at Tigers I would refer to him as try scoring machine. Brien>>Nofo If Ayshford does not go well this year though I would be looking at

1\. Tedesco
2\. Koroibete
3\. Brien
4\. Lawrence
5\. Nofoaluama

Sorry, why is koro in there? he is already playing no. 2 in the NRL. And i'd put him…above tedesco. Ergh, actually i have no idea. they're both so good, maybe koro has the edge with more nrl experience, no injuries and proven nrl record.

Otherwise, I agree with you. Although, i have no idea how tedesco would go at centre. unless you mean shift motzen to centre and james to 1.

So you're comparing a centre to a winger…Not off to a good start considering they both play different positions. Brien looks to be a handy depth player. I wouldn't be using him in the forwards, we have plenty of backrowers and he's a lightweight in this regard.

NRL 1-5

Fullback- Tedesco
Wing- Koroibete
Center- Brien
Center- Lawrence
Wing- Nofofalauama

Would be the most inexperienced backline ever in the NRL - add in Miller at half and you have 5 of our backs with less than 10 games between them.
Maybe in the future…...maybe.

Yep, hard to disagree with you but it would be pretty good. I would bring them in slowly.

I haven't seen him at all but 7 tries in 3 games is worth taking note. Reddy certainly hasn't done much in the first grade trials and Simona seems to have fallen down the pecking order. Brien may well be the next center in line.

Simona and Nofo were way better than him last week (in state cup)
