I'm thinking that we will see more and more bigger back rowers playing as front rowers in 2016 when the new rule changes

I reckon most benches will only have one prop , two backrowers and a hooker /utility player

You might only need 3 props in 2016 and beyond

Thoughts ??

The reduction in the interchange to 8 wont have the great effect everyone is hoping for IMO…Most Coaches hold about 2 to 3 up there sleeve from the 10 in case injuries strike or late in the game .....they just wont have that luxury now...not much will change in they way it's used or how the game is played in 2016 with it being 8..

If you really want the fatigue factor to have the desired effect it needs to be futher reduced to 6.....then we're talking about real impact on the Game...

17 players who are friendly with Jason Taylor the balance can join Farah in State Cup which could be a strong team.

Farah can still play for NSW SOO from State Cup. I remember Olsen Filipaina playing for New Zealand after playing reserve grade for Balmain and Ray Brown picked for an Australian tour whilst playing for Manly reserve grade.

He will not play SOO after playing a dozen games in state cup.

Sadly, from Wests Tigers point of view, I think this is right. Our threadbare forward stocks look pretty scary.

8 will have an effect don't worry about that Geo

If you can increase the speed of the game and have a very fit footy side , 8 will hurt teams

So early to be picking a team considering pre season has just started, but i'll give it a crack. Here is my team based on the assumption that all of these players have a big off season and impress the coaches.
Round 1 - 2016:
1\. Tedesco
2\. Hoeter or Peni
3\. Naiqama
4\. Simona
5\. Nofoaluma
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Ballin
10\. Sue
11\. Sironen
12\. Lawrence
13\. Halatau

14\. Farah or Cherrington
15\. Seumanufagai
16\. McConnachie
17\. Griffin or Edwards or Lovett

Not the worse team running around in my opinion, if the Ipswich boys have big off seasons and impress in the trials I can see both of them receiving bench spots, McConnachie has that aggressive nature that previous Tigers forwards have lacked. Edwards and Lovett aren't real impact forwards off the bench but are good defenders and the type of forward Taylor likes. Another hooker on the bench, I just cant see Taylor having 3 quality hookers at his disposal and leaving 2 of them in NSW Cup. The backline is pretty much the same as last year with the wing spot up for contention. I envision Hoeter to have a good off season, I actually dont think he was too bad in the games he played this year, another pre season and building up confidence, I can see him having a break out 2016 season.

1\. Teddy
2\. Hoeter
3\. Simona
4\. Naiqama
5\. Nofo
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Cherrington
10\. Seumanufagai
11\. Lawrence
12\. Edwards
13\. Sue

14\. Halatau
15\. Sirro
16\. McConnachie
17\. Chee Kam

18\. Griffin

Thing is Hoeter has mostly played wing and centre on the right. It's not always a given that they'll make the switch to the other side successfully. If one of the youngsters - Addo Carr, Peni, Seve, Hunt, Kharwin, Rankin (plays fullback, wing?) have an astounding offseason, and Hoeter is still just ok then they could easily take his spot.

Ballin won't be fit for Round 1 so he's been excluded. Though he'd be starting hooker by Round 4\. Sue and Sirro are fighting for lock. Sue might start then rotate to prop when Sirro comes on. Halatau relieves Cherrington, but depending who we're playing Halatau could start.

I see CheeKam pushing Naiqama for a centre spot, but think he'll start the season on the bench. If Cheekam start then Griffin for the bench over Naiqama.

Props are the issue but Woods can play 60\. Ava 40-50\. McConnachie who knows 30 either side of halftime and maybe a bit more at the end? And then Sue playing a bit on rotation too. Or if Sirro plays lock for 60-80 then Sue is exclusively a prop or plays a bit of lock as needed.

I remember Ava playing close to 60 minutes straight one game last season, he's got a very underrated motor. I'm still not convinced that the interchange rule will make such a drastic difference at the moment but with Woods, Ava, Sue, Graham and Edwards/Griffin, we've got plenty that can go the distance. Wouldn't have the punch but with Halatau, Lawrence, Sironen, Chee Kam, Liolevave and McConnachie we've got a nice, diverse blend of back rowers that would make sure we're always asking plenty of questions.

I'll have another try

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Seve
4\. Simona
5\. Naiqama
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Farah/Ballin
10\. Sue
11\. Sironen
12\. Lawrence
13\. Edwards

14\. Seumanufagai
15\. Dallas Graham
16\. Billy McConnachie
17\. Halatau

Other guys pushing for a spot - Rod Griffin, Chee Kam, Liolevave, Tyler Cassel, Hoeter

Just looking at our strongest team (assuming Farah is gone) and its hard to avoid the thought "Spoon"

Lets be honest its look an incredibly average roster outside of Teddy and Woods and the hit and miss kids in the halves.

Wow wee our pack looks disgraceful. Can we really compete with a pack so weak?

Whether we can or cannot compete the reality is that this pack is the best we can provide for 2016\. Let's accept it and hope that in 2016 our team meets every challenge in the most positive way.
