Tip - Dragons

Pretty befuddling to me to be honest. Dragons are favoured over us even without Dugan? Dragons have better forwards? Really? I don't see it at all. I have us pencilled in for a big win here. The Tigers are going to make a lot of "experts" look ridiculous this year.

I looked through all the teams. To be quite honest none of the teams look a cut above except the Roosters. Manly, Souths and Melbourne look worse than last year. The Bulldogs and Broncos both look rudderless and team selections are very quizzical.

I actually see a really massive change in the makeup of the ladder outside of the Roosters being utterly dominant again.

Agreed Mac. Who would have thought:

Broncos - Hoffman at 5/8
Dragons - Witt at Halfback
Storm - Roberts at halfback
Manly - Blair and Hiku on the wings

Demonstrates brittleness in their roster or desperation before a ball is even kicked.

If Storm lose two or three games with Roberts at half, and then don't have the big 3 during Origin period, that could be enough to have them out of the 8 come season end.

The comp is very open in my opinion but I do expect the Cowboys and Warriors to be strong.

Don't buy into these things. From what I saw in our last trial we played more direct, our forwards went forward and our kicking game was solid. I reckon we'll grind the Dragons down on Sunday and start the season with a win.

Yeah I'm thinking that Roosters and Cowboys will be the teams to beat this year. Roosters especially just have too much talent across the park and Cowboys have always had a superb roster just lacked drive (which they will have this year).

Yes the trials were just trials but our defense was miles better than last year. All these other teams are coping injuries and losing their shit. Tigers have had two years of coping injuries so I think we will be able to soldier on. Hopefully when Galloway, Simona and Nufo come back we will be able to stick with the roster and have a good run of injuries.

I'm confident we can make top 8.

"The dragons easily"

look down 5 lines, -1.5 line and $1.95 for the dragons to win. Yep, you seem very confident in the dragons…. :unamused: :unamused:

Thinking as long as out boys recover from boils that tigers could be a very good bet

That's my thought also. I would have had us at about $1.75.

But I have nightmares about Robbie limping from the field before half time with a stream of blood & pus running down his leg.

woulda chucked $30 on us when we were at better odds, but with the boils issue im happy i didnt. could end badly if those 3 arent cleared

The previews are as to be expected, what exactly have the Tigers done that should make us favourite?

You could argue the same for St George but realistically on paper they have a better side and are at home, ofcourse they will be favourites.

I know it's difficult not to look at our squad with black & gold glasses on, but realistically it's not a good squad, especially defensively and until our players start living up to this endless "potential" everybody keeps granting them then we aren't going to be rated by pundits outside the club, simple really.

Who gives a poo what that Richard Cranium Waterhouse thinks

Bet he's taking the Tigers , why anyone would take advice from a bookie on who will win on something he has a vested interest in

Zaibatsu they have no form. They got spanked in the trials and we won both against good sides. We beat them last start when the Tigers side was actually in worse shape and they don't have a better team than us on paper.

I agree they have no form, but the form you are claiming for us is merely trial form and realistically we only beat the Sharks by 6pts who were missing Gallen, Carney & Lewis etc. so it's really a win to brag about.

Yes I know we were missing players as well but it's trial form, it holds no weight what-so-ever, we won all our trials last year, but how'd we go in round one? 😕

I'm not by any means saying we can't win it, we are a great chance, I'm just a little stunned by how shocked and butt-hurt some people seem to be that we aren't favourites lol  , it's round one, they are at home, we have a few injuries including Galloway etc and a halfback who has played 1 NRL match, why **WOULDN'T** the Dragons be favourite?
