I used to hate them hard.
They were smug A-holes on the field and their “look at me crap” off it just rubbed me wrong.
I rejoiced when Melbourne done them in 2020.
I was cranky that Souths let them off in 2021.
In 2022 after losing Burton and Capewell, they started playing with a bit of humility and I was on them for their win over Parra in the GF.
From then on, I’ve been in awe of them. Lose API and Kikau? No probs. Lose Crichton and Leniu? then May? No probs again. Lose Luai, Fish and Turuva? It’s very likely that won’t affect them too much either.

Me too.

Lose players every year and still compete at the highest level with players that were here and people were happy to see us let go.

Wholehearted players like Luke Garner and Daine Laurie.

People said Garner would not get a run at second row when Martin and Sorenson were available still found to be useful playing at centre, playing a solid game and getting a try assist.

Daine Laurie a player that I was highly critical of, finds his way back to Penrith and has been used as a fill in on numerous occasions, comes off the bench to cover injury and scores 2 tries in their win today.

There's a lot to like about that team and the way they are coached.

Both of those teams that played today are going to be hard to beat this season when they blow out a few of the cob webs and I don't expect Dylan Edwards to play that badly again.
 
Panthers system is just something to behold... a second rower at centre, missing their starting winger and prop, losing their winger 5 minutes into the game and STILL dominate field position

Their fitness at the end to scramble and hold the sharks out was incredible. I dream of our players behind half as determined as them

Feels like when we were waiting for the Storm to flog out.
- Even after some of the best players we'll ever see left them - They still killed it.

Maybe the working and winning is in the walls of those organisations,
unlike the sponge cake that's in ours.
 
Some really good set plays from the peni panthers today. I hope we have a few of these in the bag of tricks this year.

Klein is consistently the worst referee in the game,i would prefer never getting Klein either on the field or in the bunker as he always seems to favour one side in his rulings and also the way he lets the game flow.

Tbh I think all the refs are pretty bad these days, but I agree Klein is hands down the worst of the lot. Adam Gee is ok and probably the best out of all the current refs but I still don’t have high hopes. Long gone are the days when the ref let the natural flow of the game take control and only stepped in when needed, now they’re involved in every part of the game and at times it’s just not needed.

Honestly, that sounds like Sheen's plan for us.

Fast footy, 200 passes and we just outscore the opposition team.

... did not work with our team and Honestly I think today's coaches would get around it. Attack fast because we have no defense and defend hard to slug our attack.

we need to move on as a club and team.

I am so sad that we blew Daine Laurie.

Yes he wasn't our fullback, but you look at how poor the coaching was. Kick return meters can be worked on and both Daine and Bula clearly are not being coached to get in position tackle 4/5.

Daine at 5/8 went alright. Loved the player, had a stack of heart. Meh, hope he keeps doing well at Penrith as a ute.
