Round 1 team

mate you wanna listen to the hype about GOWER but get funny when we talk about the hype of LUI

I am happy to listen to hype about Gower. I admit I have seen very little of him and of course have not ruled out that my initial impressions are incorrect. But he didnt seem over strong or overly fast from what I saw of him. I would easily pick Dwyer over him.

But lets sack the NYC's best player from last year because he has been overhyped :unamused: That is the logic that I think is stupid. Lui, like Thurston, will take sometime in finding his feet in first grade but anybody thinking he is not a potential star has rocks in their head.

according to the members only training you can scratch payten from your first round team.

Our attack is 25% better when Payten plays,so if he is out it will be a big blow

Not last year it wasn't.

I am taking a stab and saying Marshall will not play Monday night as such I believe the team will be altered as such

1\. Mitch Brown
2\. Lote Tuquiri
3\. Blake Ayshford
4\. Chris Lawrence
5\. Beau Ryan

6\. Tim Moltzen
7\. Blake Lazarus

8\. Bryce Gibbs
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Kieth Galloway
11\. Gareth Ellis
12\. Chris Heighington
13\. Liam Fulton

14\. Daniel Fitzhenry
15\. Junior Moors
16\. Andrew Fafita
17\. Jason Cayless

Can someone please explain to me why we need Fitzhenry or
Brown on the bench?

Farah plays 80 minutes, and if a back gets injured Fulton can cover. It's just a complete waste.

There is no way Sheens will pick Lazarus instead of Lui.

Pretty good side if Benji is ruled out. Another option could be if Benji's ankle isn't right for round 1, then Sheens could put Lazarus at 7, Lui at 6 with Moltzen still at 1\. Add Flanagan to the bench in place of probably Fafita.

Wow…A slight Ankle injury ....we will be lucky to see Benji by round 6.....

Bring back J. Mo....

Marshall's injury may require more rehab than first thought…

Instead of 2 to 4 weeks...try 6 to 8...

Well initially I thought of Lui on the bench but it all comes down to Lote's match as well hence Fitzhenry who could cover the wing.

Either way it is interesting all the same

I dont understand this one either. Unless the player can fill the 6, 7 and 9 position (and do it adequately like John Plath, Lincoln Withers etc) I dont believe in having backs on the bench.

We almost always carry a back on the bench for the first few rounds of late though don't we?

I have no problem with Lui on the bench. He can fill 6, 7, 9 and probably 13\. Not sure the bench is the best place for his development though. Would prefer him in the run on or in State Cup so he can learn to start dominating for 80 mins

Sheens' may go with something like this:

1\. Moltzen
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan

6\. Marshall
7\. Lui

8\. Galloway
9\. Farah ©
10\. Gibbs
11\. Ellis
12\. Heighington
13\. Payten

14\. Cayless
15\. Fulton
16\. Mataka
17\. Moops

I'd go with something like this:

1\. Lazarus
2\. Fitzhenry
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuqiri

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

8\. Galloway
9\. Farah (c)
10\. Gibbs
11\. Gower
12\. Heighington
13\. Ellis

14\. Cayless
15\. Fulton
16\. Payten
17\. Moops

I'd like to change my team now if Marshall and Payten aren't going to play:

1\. Moltzen
2\. Fitzhenry
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuqiri

6\. Lui
7\. Lazarus

8\. Galloway
9\. Farah ©
10\. Gibbs
11\. Gower
12\. Heighington
13\. Ellis

14\. Cayless
15\. Fulton
16\. Schirnack
17\. Moops

I have no knowledge of any specifics of his injury. I do know though that ankles are one of those things if the are not 100% right than it is easy to make the injury worse. Running is one thing and a very good thing but game conditions are very different indeed.

I am just putting a suggested alternative out there

I hope that this is purely speculation rather than factual about benji in doubt this week. It would be a major blow indeed. He and TnT were our two best backs toward the end of the year and without them and the uncertainty surrounding throwing Lote straight into the side has me a bit nervous…I am leaning more toward speculation. Both Benji and the coach said last week he would play round 1\. Does anyone have any solid information?
Cheers guys
