TEAM LIST Round 1 vs. Titans

Team List
I feel like we're overestimating our side and underrating the Titans.

Our backline is filled with okay players and doueihi, talau and brooks have the potential to be better than that, but aren't at the moment. Our forward pack is strong, but so are most teams, it's just that now I hope we'll at least compete.

Looking at teams across the league the dragons, knights and Bulldogs look pretty weak, while warriors and us have improved sides and probably sit somewhere in front of those teams. I'm not sure we're realistically any higher than that.

I don't think it's a great catastrophe if we lose this game, combinations will take a while to gel and titans have some serious talent in their side. They were very inconsistent last year and fell into a hole like us. But a year ago they were talked about as potential top 4 team.

So, I just think we should be a little measured in our expectations. This is still predominantly a team that has really struggled for the last 5 years and, even if we have a decent season, I think a rough start would not be too surprising.

Titans were woeful last year, very lucky not to win the spoon and their only major change was to bring in a 33 yo half with 68yo knees. We have upgrades at nearly every position via roster change or health. I agree the Titans look okay on paper but we are deserved favourites for Sunday.

Titans very fast on edges. That's about it.

Dunno man, Wasn't erin clark the one that stole the win off us at Cambo?
And Mo Fotuaika is an Origin Prop - Part of the winning squad...
- Off the bench, I'd give him more value than any of our Lads.
While I agree with you, I have an inkling Pole and AJ will be in for big seasons, particularly AJ. Fingers and toes crossed.

It's a decent team on paper, much better than anything we've named for a few years.

The first few rounds is always a crap shoot though. Squads like ours particularly where the broom has gone through the joint and there's a few new faces, new coach, new supposed change in tactics could put on a clinic or be rusty as it comes and get trounced.

We'll know at around 8:30pm Sunday night.

Listened to Sheens podcast last night. Didnt he say there were a couple of guys touch and go for sunday? My guess is Api still only a maybe

Brooks will be good to go no issues

Limited preparation likely an issue, as he hasn't run with the team that much from all accounts, with Benji even stepping in. So Luke is certainly going to be a little underdone and will have to push to get through the 80 minutes.
