They need to change the rule for dropouts. The now more frequently used tactic of going short and getting the ball back seems to make it around 50/50 or a greater chance maybe? Not sure about the stats but it’s getting to the point where it doesn’t appear to be a real advantage for the team that it should be an advantage for.

I personally like the current rules. Makes it exciting. Should a team automatically get it back after forcing a drop out? I’m not so sure. They didn’t score. I don’t think it’s 50/50 overall. There’s probably a couple of teams who go ok but even the best kickers get it wrong and give away a penalty in front. Still a huge risk. If the team is good enough to pull it off then to me that’s ok. I also think the defenses haven’t practiced the set ups right.

On a side note I don’t think kickers attempt kicking it to the sideline enough. Adds another dynamic.

its a high risk/high reward maneuver.just another rule to change in future when teams start perfecting it and everyone bleats about how unfair it is
