LIVE GAME Round 11 vs. Rabbitohs

Live Game Discussion
I thought we played really well on the whole. As said previously, it was always going to be very tough to beat souths. The most pleasing thing for me was the effort. We put in for pretty much the whole 80 which marks a clear turnaround from earlier in the season and last year. We have a strong middle and our forwards can actually get us into positions to score tries. For a long time we hadn’t even been able to get the ball up the other end of the field because of our impotent pack. If we continue to play with that effort we’ll win games this year and with an organising half hopefully coming in next year things are definitely looking more hopeful!

To have any chance in that game yesterday we had to defend well or they would have put a cricket score on us.
We did that well but our attack let us down again and you can take your pick who you want to lay blame for that from the coach to key play makers. We had them at 6 -0 for the most part of the game.and only lost it in the 73rd minute.
We have screamed for better defensive performances for an age but now that has put a spotlight on how poor our attack is.

This is pretty funny. Excuses and failures. Like you are a such a high achiever.
I wouldn’t keep my job if I performed like these blokes (coaches/halves)
Sheens has been punted multiple times for failing to perform in the last ten years.
I like Brooks but he hasn’t achieved anywhere near the other top halves, irrespective of $$$. Yes he is the best we have got but that doesn’t mean you keep him.

I bet you've never performed anywhere near the level these guys are performing at at anytime in your life in any endeavor.

There is no shame in this. I haven't either. I doubt anyone on this forum has.

I don't really understand the comment. Yep he is clearly our best half. The club needs to figure out who they are going to run with in the halves next year and Brooks is an option if they choose too.

If the club can get two better halves than Brooks I assume they will.

Wonder how we'd have gone if we had Naden, Staines and Douehi available today. All these guys can score a try. Staines has genuine pace. Our defence seems pretty sound and we've had really high completions last 3 games but none of this really helps us win games if we can't put points on the board.
Douhie? Incorrect

We are getting the basics right .
Let's hope they can get that attack firing
Next week
I still think there are more wins in us this year

Which we needed to do, but the attacking situation , in so many cases, comes down to reading the play and reacting to opportunities.
I’m not sure if our backs, maybe with a couple of minor exceptions, are astute enough to play heads up and make things happen. We need another Bula in the halves.
It would be nice to put it together next week at LO although the Cows are starting to look ominous. 🤞

UPDATED: Most Metres vs Souths

Starford To’a - 203 (24 runs)
David Nofoaluma - 201 (23)
Jahream Bula - 190 (21)
David Klemmer - 147 (14)
John Bateman - 131 (13)
Alex Twal - 118 (11)
Isaiah Papali’i - 100 (13)
All good stats and now becoming consistent. Well done to all.
Can you also supply an update of time in the opposition half/red zone and outcomes ?

As much as I have taken a bit of a liking to Brent Naden and Charlie Staines I doubt that there would have been much difference, if any to the final result.

To be fair Nofo has been playing well since returning to first grade and as critical as I usually would be of Tommy Talau, I thought he did surprisingly well yesterday considering the form Campbell Graham is in, just wish he could of got some ball to Junior.

Adam Doueihi may have made a bit of a difference if fit as far as attack goes, but would probably have been a liability defending. It is possible that Doueihi could have been a threat in the red zone with his power running and we may have possibly gotten over the line.

Other than that I don't those 3 make enough difference for us to win that game.

I went off in my lounge room watching him gush over Latrell. So clear he’s here for a pay check and the loss means nothing to him at all. It seems pretty common though in this day and age that kind of joking around with the opposition after a loss.
I was ropable too ay!! I get they’re all mates and what not but the way he was carrying on was over the top and embarrassing for him and the club. The tigers should try move him on now and free up a top 30 spot because he doesn’t deserve it.

Just watched the mini match again, when Bula puts Brooks through and he doesnt even bother looking back to the inside where Bula was backing up. That could have changed the complexion of the game Brooks absolutely butchered that Farah had to get up and walk away in the coaches box. TBF to Brooks he's prob not used to having a fullback that follows the play still bloody hell.

Brooks just has no football instincts at all.
