LIVE GAME Round 13 v Cowboys

Live Game Discussion
We have a lot more attacking class in this squad.
Overall, the discipline and errors are less than previous years.
Defence is just as shit as ever though and needs a lot of work still.
Feel like our discipline is getting worse as the season goes on, thought it was pretty good during the early part.

Assuming Skelton is a starter over Staines, we have back up in Makasini (shortly), Luke Luaali , Staines. I think backline holds its own. Thrown in May and the backlines done.

In the halves we have Mason and Latu fighting for 6. Falls if we get injuries.

Hooker is covered.
TDS/ Hope/ Haywood. We can lose one and still be solid there.

In the forwards, Seyfarth is better playing direct, off the bench. Hunt is good for impact only. Twal same boat at Seyfarth. KPP with his 40 tackles a game and direct running should add a lot. I think that leaves us a lock forward and front rower short. I think Front row and lock should be our priorities (and of course, getting KPP here within the next few weeks).
When is Skelton due back?

The players have probably worked out now that there is literally no depth at the club so they can’t be dropped regardless of what dumb plays they come up with

Yes mate …. Just not against us with that peanut in the bunker …. And 3 6 agains in a row is an automatic sin bin … tell me where that rule is ? I’ve never heard that in my life . And if it is real …. Talk about dusting off obscure

I can’t remember who we played, maybe it was the eels in our last clash

Gave away about 4-5 six agains in quick succession and nothing happened

Why is Makasini considered backup at this stage?
How has he proven he is anywhere near ready yet?
Im
Assuming we are signing May or a classy center and then expect Makasini to put himself in the picture late in the season or into next season. I don’t think we are more one signing short in the backline. Skelton is due back next week and Luke Luuali is screaming for selection off his performance today.

to much ill discipline, and they only start playing attacking football when down 20 with 15 to play
To be fair to Sutton I felt like his play the ball speeds were consistent for both teams , and he was generally pretty fair .
Look when Bula was away with that inside ball he dropped , we might not be even talking about this stuff .
Plus if we challenged the drinkwater drop at the end.
If ever there was team full of downhill skiers it’s the cowboys . Fro what I could tell before the I’ll discipline ruined us , we were going to put pressure on them until they cracked . And it would have worked .
Soo much so I’m sure we would have out 40-50 on them . But we gave them open space, and time against a tired defence even when it was 13v13. Pretty much played the game exactly how they would have wanted .
I still don’t think the AD one was a sin bin offence . It was definitely a penalty , but when you watch the replay at no point does AD look at Bateman , nor reach out .
There’s zero evidence he was being cynical outside of the obvious taking out the player .
He doesn’t even look at Bateman .

We need to stop worrying about things we can't control such as penalties, six agains and sin bins. We need to worry about what we can control. Tackling ,running onto the ball, passing , kick chase and effort. If do that we will competitive evey match.

The AD sinbin is within the rules …although I think that rule should be changed as its ramifications are too severe and also encourages diving ..

I still don’t know what Luai was doing when he got sinbinned … that cost them 14 points and you could argue the game … we need him to be better than that
