LIVE GAME Round 13 v Cowboys

Live Game Discussion
We have looked like this for a few games now. It’s like we put our foot in the water and don’t commit to playing with any real effort or heart until we can’t win the game. At that point we start playing like we should from the outset.
A lack of belief. The desire and hunger from early in the season has disappeared.
Api needs a break in the game and we need TDS coming onto the bench. We are short 2-3 quality forwards and a centre.
Api was struggling to throw a right to left pass in critical stage of the match. Luai also threw a terrible pass which went to ground but luckily resulted in a try.

Poor discipline just left way too much to do. Didn't deserve the win though good to see the team keep trying to the end. Seems they play for the coach which is a positive but really, even when fullly fit, we're 2 or 3 players short with another 2 or 3 needed for depth. Can we sign say 5 more upgrades before 2026? Thats the task IMO.

Staines I thought has been really solid for us though since coming in this year. When Skelton comes back, feel we have just about enough depth in the outside backs. Forwards on the other hand.....

Yah haha - I've been really looking forward to Latu's time, but Heath's pace and directness is just so refreshing. Tough in defence too.

Is Latu predominately a 7? Could see:

6. Mason
7. Latu

14. Luai

Sort of sarcasm obv. But Luai isn't doing the 7 role.
I think Latu is a more natural 6, but could make the transition to 7 more easily than Luai is.

When in the last 10 years have we had the character we have now? A playing group as tight as we are now?

We were a bees dick from one of the greatest comebacks in the NRL after playing a quarter of the game a man down... Three quarters of the game with 3 on the bench

Fk the negative ppl on here

I believe!!!!!!! Praise lord Richo and Benji!!!
It takes 48-72 hours to fully flush out toxic bacteria....

The club & team culture will continue to build without this parasitic peanut!

We lost that game because we had 2 guys sent to the bin and gave up 26 points end of . Anybody saying the team is shit or whatever , as a hyperbole or collective is missing the point .
We absolutely suck at 12v13 way too much space in the middle . From what I can tell we don’t condense and force teams to our edges .

Assuming Skelton is a starter over Staines, we have back up in Makasini (shortly), Luke Luaali , Staines. I think backline holds its own. Thrown in May and the backlines done.

In the halves we have Mason and Latu fighting for 6. Falls if we get injuries.

Hooker is covered.
TDS/ Hope/ Haywood. We can lose one and still be solid there.

In the forwards, Seyfarth is better playing direct, off the bench. Hunt is good for impact only. Twal same boat at Seyfarth. KPP with his 40 tackles a game and direct running should add a lot. I think that leaves us a lock forward and front rower short. I think Front row and lock should be our priorities (and of course, getting KPP here within the next few weeks).

This team is different from the ones of recent past. Realistically we should have beaten the Bunnies (thanks Voldemort) and without the sin bins and injuries, we get the win tonight. The never say die attitude is refreshing to what we had in the past.
We have a lot more attacking class in this squad.
Overall, the discipline and errors are less than previous years.
Defence is just as shit as ever though and needs a lot of work still.

Was just thinking,
- After this Galvin nonsense
- We lost another game

Surely some good news to follow this coming week. We need some positivity.
Signing announcements would be nice.

Our top 30 has been cooked for years, having players there that never even play. Guys like Tumeth. Many more before them.

A balance roster is so important.
Look at the good clubs like Storm and Broncos.
Their depth is outstanding.

We've got Matamua and Feledy.
Who wants to play for this team. It a death knell for your career.

drinkwater dropped the ball off the bomb with 2 minutes to go . If that was us , the bunker would have interfered. Just because of Murphys Law …. Or something . The ball hit the ground before he had control .
Yep noticed the bobble

Also that nanai try, the cowboys bloke just stood there in Turuva’s way .. isn’t that a disrupter or whatever the clunker call it?

to much ill discipline, and they only start playing attacking football when down 20 with 15 to play

Yes mate …. Just not against us with that peanut in the bunker …. And 3 6 agains in a row is an automatic sin bin … tell me where that rule is ? I’ve never heard that in my life . And if it is real …. Talk about dusting off obscure rules .

Why is Makasini considered backup at this stage?
How has he proven he is anywhere near ready yet?
